I'm going to Paignton on 21st June. Is there anything interesting to look at besides the new croc house? I last visited in 2005.

I always find something interesting to look at during my frequent visits. Crocodile Swamp is the only major new project since 2005 though the Barbary Sheep have a new enclosure, as do the Lowland Anoa. Check out the very entertaining new orangutans and young gorillas. You should be able to see everything if you're spending the day there.

Thanks Gigit, I'll be in the zoo for around 4 hours. IIf I don't have enough time I don't mind missing some of the exhibits I've seen before, I want to look at the crocodiles.

I hope to see how Monkey Heights has developed also.

Hope you have a good time. I haven't been for a couple of weeks - last time I went they'd had to cover over one glass wall of the Cuban crocodile's enclosure as he'd been very agitated by his new environment. You could still see him from the other side. Maybe he's settled down now.

One side is still covered. The glass was dirty on all the enclosures making photography very difficult, not to mention the fact that the Cuban croc and the saltwater croc were in just about the worst possible places for photography in the enclosure. The Nile crocs posed perfectly though.

The enclosure walls are taller than I anticipated, but I think the house is good, apart from the jungle noises playing as visitors approach the entrance. I've never liked that sort of thing.

The weather was cold and dull, but at least that is an improvement on my last two visits; cold and wet and very cold and wet.

I didn't see any red river hogs.
