Thank you Gigit. I saw only four of the Turs last week, but no Barbary sheep. I like the enclosure, but I agree its not the easiest enclosure to see them in.

A few things I noticed today;
There are some new residents in the now ex-Malay Fish Owl aviary - I saw three Pheasants but didn't recognise the species?
The ex-Pudu enclosure was being strimmed back for the arrival of Duiker - don't know species or number, but fits their ex-situ work in Nigeria & Tanzania and was first mentioned back when Monkey Heights was first being designed.
The Squirrel Monkeys have moved or are they off-show?
There is a pelican in the Avian BC free flight.
The Adjudant Storks are back in the Gibbon island enclosure as the aviary by Owl row is still broken following a fallen tree.
There has been a re-build of the lake aviary (ex-Rail) between the Tigers and the Allens Swamp Monkeys, containing Geese and Duck, but species not noted.

I only saw 4 turs today (2 nannies + 2 kids) and no Barbary sheep - although the sign was still there. But it is so true that any numbers for animals in that enclosure must be minimum values only.

Doesn't the zoo still have a female Pudu along with a fawn or have they both gone now?
Not sure, but, I was told by some staff that Duiker were being added. However, with Paignton, you never 'really' know for sure!! I had assumed, wrongly, that until yesterday it would be the Anoa, Meerkat, Peccary or even Tapir/Capybara (though there would need to be an extension) going to that area to allow for the Savannah development. I can't see how they are going to proceed without first building the Takin exhibit, moving the Tapir, Peccary, Meerkat, Cusimanse and Anoa. Duiker were originally going to be mixed with the Diana/Colobus in Monkey Heights but the failure of the Anoa/Macaque experiment put them off!! On that note, it would be good to see the Mangabeys mixed with the Gorillas as has happened successfully at Dublin?

A keeper confirmed a couple of days ago that there are still 6 Turs and 1 Barbary sheep.

Bit of a broad question, and one which can most succinctly be answered with the word "Yes" - animals at Paignton have indeed moved zoo, died and been born in the last year.

Have a look through this thread and at the Zoo's website and Facebook page. They don't publicise all changes, however, and, in my experience, rumours of moves are best ignored until the animal in question has actually gone!

Good news as its the first for some while. This 'group' now only contains 2.1 (before this birth) so any additional birth, preferably female, is welcome.

They weren't on Wednesday and their den showed no evidence of having been touched since a couple of weeks ago - hammer, ladder in the same place etc.
I saw 3 adult colobus back in their old indoor enclosure today, but I didn't spot an infant. The stork aviary beside the owls has been repaired and at least 2 of the lesser adjutants were inside, although the footpath beside it is still closed. The aviary beside the lake and the howlers held the old Asian white stork. Staff were working in the old pudu paddock. The two lory aviaries, between the eclectus and the hyacinthines, seem to be complete (at last) but are still unoccupied.
The baby mangabey was quite active, as far as I could tell, it's a boy.
