Edinburgh Zoo Pandamonium to hit Edinburgh! #1

Does anyone have any photos of the building works with regards to the panda exhibit?

They are proven breeding animals. the female has already given birth on a previous occaission and the male has fathered cubs as well. In fact the rough dates when the female comes into season are known.

At the recent panda talk the surprise with the ease of getting a breeding pair was commented on. It turned out Edinburgh is the first zoo to ask for a proven breeding pair!

I feel sorry for Iain Valentine if he has to watch their arrival on television from his home or the pub, given that it was his blood and sweat that saw to their (proposed; anything can happen until they arrive on British soil) arrival. Someone said to me recently that without Iain, Edinburgh Zoo would just be yet another ABC collection, so then we could forget about the Aardwolfs, Gorals, etc, let alone Pandas.

I've even started to think that the pandas are cursed; all hell broke loose after the agreement was made in Beijing in January (even if the zoo had its issues before that, but name me one zoo, or any other organisation, that does not have any issues at any given time).

To be totally accurate on the panda arrival, anytime beteween July at the earliest (highly unlikely but things should be in place just in case) through to the Olympics 2012 (or any other potential for a Chinese visit from their President or Premier). So the correct answer to "When will the pandas arrive?" could be an unhelpful question as well! "How long is a piece of string?"
