Forest burning allegedly carried out by a foreign company in Papua to build a palm oil plantations. Responding to this event, the Indonesian twitter users used the hashtag #SavePapuaForest and #SaveHutanIndonesia as a form of wrath that their country's rainforest is being destroyed by a foreigner. The hashtags #SavePapuaForest and #SaveHutanIndonesia have entered the Indonesian trending topic since last Friday.
It was reported that a investigation by Greenpeace with Forensic Architecture found allegations that a foreign company had deliberately burned a forests in Papua to build a palm oil plantations. However, the company denied the allegation. The company claims that the information that says their company is responsible for the burning of the Papuan forests is not true.
