Thank you Senapus.
A friend of mine found the news yesterday evening too.
A friend of mine found the news yesterday evening too.
Terre de Singes opened in September 2016...This is pretty big news.
The website, Facebook, Instagram have been changed from Le Parc Des Felins to Parcs Zoologiques Lumigny. Apparently they now have two parks and if I am reading the French correctly they are next to each other. (Can @Michel L'HUILLIER confirm this?).
In addition to the original Le Parc Des Felins (which has cats) they now have Terre De Singes (which has monkeys and lories/parrots). This website is a landing page for both parks, from which you can use a tab to get information on either one: Accueil - Parcs Zoologiques Lumigny
Okay then I guess it's not big news.Terre de Singes opened in September 2016...
Since the redo of their website it is much harder to keep up on births. They don't list them in a news feed like on the old site - basically you have to scour through Facebook posts. From what I can gather (both posts and photos) these are some of the births for 2019:
two Malayan tiger (see post above)
two Eurasian lynx (Siberian I think, but they also hold European)
one (or two?) bobcat
three puma
one or two serval
one? caracal
four? sand cat
This is fantastic! I wish I lived over there. (Actually I would love to live anywhere in Europe).Plus :
- one baby Oncilla
- one baby Jaguarundi
No more info atm.
Parc des Félins webpage shows both Southern Oncilla and Northern Oncilla
Oncille du Nord - Parcs Zoologiques Lumigny
ZTL still lists only Southern, do they got the Northern species too ?
If so, they will only miss Iberian Lynx and Sunda Leopard Cat from what is present in Europe.
