New red panda female arrived today from Kolmården. The Female "Pralin" was born 10th june last year in Kolmården.
Amur leopard cub born to Takara and Boris is female - her name is Olga.

On 2 August 0.1 Pygmy hippo was born. It's the second Pygmy hippo to be born in the park.

News from today; The ceo of Parken Zoo, Irja Bäckström is kicked from the park instant. The board of the park and the city hall of Eskilstuna weren't satisfied with her work.
They are also looking for a new ceo with better leadership and can compete with other swedish zoos like Kolmården.

Normally it would be a wisest to have a candidate under the gun / up for the job ... I am not sure if a CEO-less zoo is a very good omen.
Kifaru Bwana; Lennart Sunden, normally animal manager of the zoo is currently ceo of Parken zoo until a new ceo is found.
After that a Clouded leopard escape out from their exhibit and to kill 3 Java mouse deer last year. 2011 - A Giant Anteater escape out and to kill 10 Caribbean flamingo. The zoo must to pay over 15000 euro in penalty.
