Parque de Cotia (new zoo in São Paulo)

hey guys, i have some good news, new animals have arrived in the animalia park, now the park has received flamingos which seem to be the chilean subspecies, spectacled bears and nile lechwes.
Hey, @BetoYoung. Where did you see this? Also, the Nile lechwe arrived a few months ago, so you might mean they have been released into their exhibit.

yeah, i also didn't know that, but a friend on instagram showed me the source, it is on the instagram of a woman named natydelia, she posted photos of her family visiting the park. And yeah they have been released into their exhibit.

yeah, it doesn't seem to have a lake, because flamingos need that.
Well, I highly doubt the exhibit lacks a pool. I just found it too simple... Specially for a brand new zoo with a very high budget like Animalia Park. In any case, we'll have to wait to see more pictures of the institution to have a better idea.

The exhibit does have a pool, you can see it in the second picture's background. It might be a bit simple, but looks better than many flamingo exhibits we have in Brazil.

Yes, it was pretty obvious that it would have a pool indeed, it just wasn't too visible maybe. I would say we haven't seen enough of this enclosure yet to be able to criticize a lot, neither to say it's tremendously good, but what I mean is that I expected a better and visibly more stable/durable structure... From above, those aviaries looked quite remarkable, but from ground level they don't seem very impressive at a first glance... I have to say I like the foliage though. Looking forward to visiting the place and form opinions from what I actually see.

hi guys , it's my first time here , but i have information about animalia park . they will bring 4 spotted hyenas, 1 common wombat, 2 red-bellied lemurs, 1 black lemur, 9 plains zebras and 5 koalas. they will also bring brown fur seal, but I don't know the right amount. it seems that they also have the otters, I believe they are giant otters ,but I'm not sure.

Hello, Matrin, enjoy your stay. The plains zebras are already in their exhibit and they're from the Grant's subspecies. By the looks of it, King, the wombat in São Paulo, is coming to Cotia or they're bringing him a mate. If Princesa Julie also comes to Animália Park, she's not going to be lonely again if everything works out. What I'm the happiest about is the comeback of long gone species, such as the spotted hyena, held in Rio, São Paulo and Salvador. Interestingly enough, it seems new species are also coming to our country if you're correct. Thanks for the info.

according to the information I got, the wombat will come from Darling downs zoo, the hyenas will come from moscow, the red-bellied lemurs will come from the jardin zoologique de lyon, and the black lemur from spain.

that's amazing, can you send me the source so i can see it?

you can see the otter on Instagram majolomarcoantonio, if anyone could identify which species it is, could say here.
the others I discovered through an import and export document of fauna and flora,
even in this document they also show that the zooparque of itatiba acquired marabou storks and the avifauna acquired two species of tragopan.

These are very interesting news, guys. It seems like the Animalia Park is indeed not gonna let anyone disappointed with it's collection. Let's hope they put the same effort on the conservation programs. Has anyone got information about the place's inauguration, by the way?

P.S: Welcome to zoochat, Matrin71.
