On August 2nd, I visited Pata Zoo and I will post an extensive review a few months after I return from my Southeast Asian zoo tour of close to 60 animal collections.
Pata Zoo still has a single Gorilla, two Orangutans and a number of primates in very poor exhibits. Surprisingly, there is a whole series of snake terrariums that are decent and some standard small fish tanks.
The shopping mall where the zoo is located (the zoo is on the 6th and 7th floors) is in dire condition. Many of the floors have been completely closed since Covid and there’s hardly anything left there. Even the few stores left on the main floor were swamped with water due to some kind of flood during my visit.
