A new live animal exhibit called The Bird House opened this month. It will be open until June 18. Depending on the date you visit, you will see different birds. Here is the schedule:

January 2 - January 16: Blue-Throated Macaw, Blue-and-Gold Macaw, Hyacinth Macaw
January 18 - March 19: Serama Chicken, Northern Bobwhite
March 21 - June 18: Blue-Headed Macaw, Ivory-Billed Aracari

Apart from the (apparently temporary) birds, and the butterflies, are there any other live animals on display in this museum?

Various permanent birds (buttonquail, several neotropical passerine species), several fish species found in the area (both native and invasive), several inveterate species from around the world (mostly aquatic), and lots of native reptiles/amphibians (including the endangered Spotted and Blanding's Turtles). There were also some tortoises when I visited, but those might have been temporary (I don't remember).
