As for Central Park Zoo, I believe they have....

Chinstrap and Gentoo

There are penguins in San Diego...at the Sea World park in Mission Bay. The zoo did keep Antarctic Penguins, back before Sea World opened. However, the zoo no longer exhibits penguins.

I know that the zoo had King and Blue Penguins, there were a few other species, but I cant seem to find the article in one of my zoonooz magazines...there's a lot to dig through. If I come across it, I'll post the info. The penguin exhibit was along the most east road of the zoo, nearest the parking lot, heading towards the mouth of bear canyon.

I seem to remember from one of my books that they also had penguins a long time ago in the mirror pool that sat about where the current flamingo lagoon, but this was back in the Wegeforth days.

san diego zoo like to keep rare and unusual species, so other species of penguins included in the display would probably have included Chinstrap and Galapagus
