First 3 minutes of video is the zoo in 1994 (edit: tried to loop it, so only shows first 3 minutes but didn't work) ends 3:08

Calang the Sumatran tiger at the start, who arrived that year.

The elephant calf was very hairy, which made me think Permai; but I’m guessing Teduh based on the size. It looks too small for a healthy five year old calf.

During an era long before Australasian zoos were breeding elephants, I can only imagine how exciting it was for the public seeing the juveniles of 2-4 years they imported. Perth’s trio were 2-3 years and Auckland Zoo imported three 3-4 year olds in a row between 1968-1983.

Lost Perth shared a short video that looks like was filmed in the 1980s of the late great Tricia (the Asian elephant) in her awful old tiny concrete enclosure, before she was moved at last to the then new one in 1986 (Putra Mas's last home at the zoo being that same exhibit, first new one, built for Tricia firstly when she was the sole elephant at the zoo). But the footage is only a few seconds and then shows old footage from 1947 of Rani the elephant having her head hair burnt off by her keeper with a blowtorch, thank god for her tough skin (says the footage was from 1926, but was from 1947 the footage of Rani, as the narrator says). It's only brief, both.
