No general news thread, so i thought i would start one with the news that nine (9) African hunting dogs have been born.

Don't think this has been mentioned, Perth are sending another orangutan, a male this time, to be released in Sumatra.

It makes emotional reading, good or bad it must be very stressful for him!

Interesting how he was very thirsty- I imagine a day foraging in the forest must be exhausting for a newly-released Orangutan that has been used to captivity all its life. But this is such a worthwhile project- Perth Zoo are leading the World here with these zoobred Sumatran Orangutan rehabilitations.
