Pets?

I think it's about time for a collection update. I am now planning to focus much more on invertebrates, with reptiles and amphibians as a future challenge.

Currently, I have:

I am planning to set up breeding groups of the Devil's coach horses, centipedes and strawberry ground beetles, and hope to get a new male green anole.
 
I can already edit this again haha. Everything the same except that I sold the female anaconda and bought 2 guinea pigs. Might be buying a spiny mouse and probably another snake soon!

That is what I almost got, a beautiful cinnamon hand raised boy, even considered coming back the next weekend to buy him. Well, next weekend I went to visit him again, but he was gone and an agressive cinnamon replaced him. Turns out that someone bought him the first day I wnt to visit him. :rolleyes:

oooooh, so thats what every one was on about

no, i genuinely have a friend who is getting a pet snake. I already know i am getting a carpet python. Besides, i said that my friend had had no previous experience with pets, and if you can honestly look at the above list and tell me that i have no experience with animals, then I wont even bother getting a pet snake.

I can, however, guarantee with absolute honesty that my "friend" that i am talking about is legitimate.

Unlike most of you, I don't own any exotic pets but I have the cutest little dog. He's named Sam and is an 8-year old Maltipoo, which is half Maltese, half Poodle. He's super cute but he's very aggressive to any other living thing besides my family. He is especially mean to other dogs. One time when I was younger, he ran out of my garage, ran across the street, and bit a big German Shepard on the nose while his owner was walking him. Here's a couple pictures of him:

I also used to own a goldfish named Goldie. He was a bright orange, overweight fish and he was great. We bought him at Walmart as a juvenile and was the first pet I ever owned. We used to take him on a lot of road trips and he's been to many places like San Diego and Las Vegas. Unfortunately, he only lived for about 2-3 years and he died peacefully while I was at school. We buried him at my old house, right before we were about to move. Every once in a while if I zone out, I think about him. Sometimes I wonder if his grave's still there. :(

I have currently a Bearded Dragon, a budgie and a pair Maltese Terriers and I’m getting a kitten in a couple of weeks and maybe a couple of Yabbies tomorrow (but not with fish). I made that mistake before.

Edit I got feeder fish for them and felt bad so the fish are pets too:D

I have single aquarium that houses:
* 2 tinfoil barb
* 4 featherfin squeaker
* 1 auratus cichlid
* 2 striped Raphael catfish
* 3 bonylip barb (One normal and two golden morph)
* 1 trachelyopterus fisheri

I also have a cat named Konyot. It wandered around the neighborhood and came home only when he's hungry.

I have many pets, in general birds but also something else. It’s my first post, I came here to upgrade my knowledge about captive birds. But it’s not all, I love to know something about different species of animals. I live in country where you can keep local species of birds if you have a license so everything is legal

3.0 cockatiels, first from pet shop, second from previous owner, third from horrible conditions, he was plucking himself and looked like a roasted chicken. Now it’s not ideal but much better
2.0 budgies, first from pet shop and second from people who wanted to throw him away like an useless thing
0.1 ringneck dove from breeder
?.? eurasian collared dove, rescued as a chick and too tame to release, both doves love themselves and live in same cage. It’s too young to determine its sex
1.0 eurasian siskin from breeder
1.0 blackbird from breeder
Planned: 1.0 cockatiel, 0.1 eurasian siskin, 1.1 red siskin, 1.1 chaffinch, 1.0 european roller(yes they are available to buy!!) and maybe 0.1 blackbird if my male won’t be really territorial and aggressive

6.1 cats with many stories - most were found as helpless kittens, nobody wanted them so they stayed with me forever
1.0 dog taken from alcohol-abused man, he was drunk enough to sleep together with a dead friend and he didn’t notice something wrong, so it’s definitely not a good place for any animal
0.1 zebra jumping spider, found on my balcony, now she lives in her own terra box

My first pet was a very lovable (non playful however) old tabby cat named squeaks, due to his squeak like meow. He lived a truly fulfilling life, and met a lot of other different people. Squeaks was not necessarily what you would call ¨frisky¨, but he was a very cuddling lap cat nonetheless. Sadly, he passed away at an impressive age of 21. After that, we obtained a 2 year old cat named, (slightly derogatory) gypsy. Luckily, that was the name the pet shelter gave her, and her name now is dippy, which I think is very cute. In march of this year though, we got a kitten, and he is the most mischievous thing I have ever witnessed, and he is a little ball of fluff that will continually bite your feet over and over again, (for some reason:p), but despite his crazy nature, he is still a very adorable cat. So yeah, you can tell that I am much of a cat lover:), and I am glad I got to share my pets with everyone.
 
I'm at the point where my collection is exactly where I'd like it to be for programs. (All the non-show animals have been rehomed, besides the parrot cichlid that can't find a new home.) I've been able to spend a lot of time focusing on the animals I own; improving their enclosures and strengthening our relationship as we work towards being able to go out and visit the public.

I'd like to acquire a vinegaroon and emperor scorpion soon, as I don't have any arachnids in my collection yet. The only "bug-like" animals I have that could go to programs are Madagascar hissing cockroaches.

I'll also be taking in chinchillas from my local chinchilla breeder that have either retired, aren't wanted in future projects, or are handicapped in some form.
