I take it no-one has noticed that the female Phayre's Langur at Twycross has died. She was the only one in Europe. Quite surprised it has gone unnoticed.

I do think we should put more emphasis on colobine primates in captivity. If one looks at the level of endangerment for African and Asians ... one would expect more effort. :(
 
I had heard this but wasn't sure if it was public knowledge. A great shame.

It hadn`t gone onnoticed I just didn`t post it until I had heard that it was ok to do so,any way R.I.P Kerry.
Also she was the only one outside of Vietnam,I realy don`t think we will see this species again in the U.K.

Not wishing to be pedantic (well maybe just a little bit!), but this species also occurs in the wild in China, India, Laos, Thailand, Bangladesh and Myanmar: Range.

I`m going to have to stop listening to Twycross pr department!
