Visited the zoo today, and there are a few things that I noticed:
1. The mhorr gazelle and red river hogs were back on exhibit. A sign was up saying the watusi are coming soon, but the animals were on exhibit. It looked to be plantless-though, and I have no clue whether or not their will be grass or not.
2. I know it was previously pointed out about the birds being off exhibit, but there was a bird species I managed to see today: Caribbean Flamingos. After the bears, I walked past their exhibit- and there were multiple moving pink/red shapes seen through the translucent windows of their holding. Not a good view by any chance, but I still saw the Flamingos enough to count it for the zoochat challenge!
Overall, it was a good visit. I saw pretty much every species I wanted to (including the mhorr gazelle!) and there were only a few species that were off exhibit for the cold (Giant Otter, Meerkat, Mongoose Lemur). Less than I expected to be indoors. Everything else was outside or at least on exhibit. I did not see a Jaguar, and two of the big cat fall habitats held amur leopard today.
