Philippine eagle

A detailed video at the Philippine Eagle Centre a few months ago showing their main ambassador animal that was bred at the centre. The keeper articulately discusses their breeding and rearing techniques, diet at the centre and the challenges around breeding and reintroduction. The sire of chick 29 (who unfortunately died as per the post above) was a rescue bird that was shot, released and then shot a second time. At the time of the video, the centre had 34 eagles including rehabilitated birds.

FYI I managed to get in touch with the centre ahead of a potential visit later in the year, and they are currently keeping the eagles in their enclosures due to avian flu, so not as impressive as seeing them flown/perched out of their cages as in years gone by.
