Thanks @Ituri. I think they have them both as ambassadors then - both are listed on this year's USDA list and there are references to Egyptian fruit bats being among the animals vaccinated for COVID-19 last winter.

If the zoo is planning Big Cats of the Sonoran Desert, where on the Arizona Trail would it be?

Renderings and a flythrough video have been revealed for the Big Cats of Arizona exhibit for Giving Tuesday.

Giving Tuesday - Phoenix Zoo

Looks very intriguing, and love the use of overhead pathways for the big cats which most zoos seem to be incorporating these days.

Are Tigers and Leopards the only big cats planned for this exhibit?

The gift shop has reopened and from the photo on their Facebook page, it looks a little worse.
Also, they’ve had an aardvark since 2020?! She’s an ambassador, so seeing her will be inconsistent, but I guess the aardvark silhouette near the parking lot wasn’t foreshadowing after all.

Oh no… she was 17, by the way, not 7. She also only had 3 legs, so she was a very special caracal. At least she can be reunited with her former neighbor, Padfoot the Ocelot. I wonder what the zoo will put in her place?
