Every so often there is a thread on the steadily increasing number of photos here at ZooChat, and it is impressive to see more than 26,000 shots from zoos all over the globe. I just grabbed a calculator and took two minutes to add up all of the comments on the photos, and there are over 35,000 in total. What an amazing resource of information!

I personally love the exhibit shots at all the zoos slightly more than photos of actual animals. We have all seen bongos, red pandas, lions and other animals at countless zoos...but each exhibit is one of a kind and therefore all of the habitats are unique.

Yeah, this gallery is quite amazing! :)

I agree with you that exhibits shots are often more intresting than just the animals - and just a quick look at the number of views for different photos confirmes that this seems to be a popular opinion here. But all photos are welcomed by me, especially those with good quality, no matter what motive.

I enjoy great animal pictures as I do enjoy pictures of exhibits. Especially I like pictures of really rare species or species, which we have not here in europe.

When photos of animals motif comes up when you enter the page ZooChat :: Zoo and Animal Conservation Community, you will see the animal well and do not click it upp to the larger format. Instead, click on a exbith , you are curious to see what the exbith is. Is not it so? So, I feel. Of course when it is good animal photo, I look at them and rating them. :):)

Is there anyway that you can view just your own gallery in the new gallery format? I can't tell if people have commented on any of my photos.

as rillekolmard says above, exhibit pics get a higher number of views because you really need to see the larger size to get an idea of what the picture looks like, whereas with a pic of an animal you can usually see it well enough in the small size. But also, as soon as a picture gets a comment added the number of views rises quickly just from people clicking on it to see what the comment is. The number of views per picture is therefore not necessarily indicative of a preference of exhibit photos over species photos.
