I am a former trainer and business owner, my wife is training manager of Pinnipeds and Cetaceans at a large facility here in Florida. We are looking to open a private zoo to home, care for, spread education and conservation of either unreleasable California sealions or harbor seals.
Currently in the process to get our class B exhibitors license. But that’s about where my knowledge stops other than contacting USFWS for more info. Oddly enough even with 17 years of training experience no one in marine mammal field has the knowledge or at least is unwilling to give information on how to make this possible. Curious if anyone here with marine mammals like otters which are not protected under the MMPA could still give me an idea of where to start?
Thank you
