Ditto as well.Peta is a terrible organization and I have no respect for them
One observation: Aldabran giant tortoise in S.E. Asian islands???
Well, they do some nice things such as petitioning to close some horrifying roadside zoos, but most of the time, they go too extreme, so I dislike most things they do.Peta is a terrible organization and I have no respect for them

I also disagree with the way they run the program, being on of two facilities not to have protected contact with themPittsburgh is a good zoo, but I don’t agree with that touching the elephants thing, and if Pittsburgh plans to get back with the AZA, that would be great.
Yeah, they are fine, but they were careless enough too lose accreditation for no protected contact... I mean, elephants aren’t pets, are they?I also disagree with the way they run the program, being on of two facilities not to have protected contact with them

Yeah I meant forfeit, whatever, but still about the elephants.....The zoo forfeited their accreditation. They did not lose it. They were not up for reaccreditation when they did so. They still had several years left. The AZA has tried to shut them out of Green SSPs, which is a dumb decision. I thought it is about conservation and not AZA petty politics.
For Asia I was kinda hoping for Burmese or something….
BTW: Where are their Galapagos giant tortoise located in the zoo?
