Wow great news! I'm visiting Pairi Daiza and Planckendael late April so will hopefully see both pairs

2 days ago again an Kordofan giraffe was born at Planckendael :

Today, again an Asian elephant was born at Planckendael .

While it appeared to be a male at first sight (their words, not mine 
), it turned out to be a female after all! It remains unnamed for now, but I believe there's a vote going on for what her name will be.
I'm very happy that Planckendael's group is finally growing larger at a steady pace, and can't wait to see these two young elephants grow up with each other.

2 Copenhagen-bred Tasmanian devils arrived at Planckendael :

And the 3rd Elephant in the past 4 months has been born. This time a male, the mother is Phyo Phyo.
Suddenly and un-expected, elephant Qiyo died at an age of almost 3 years
