The new trailer for Planet Earth III, which is due to show on BBC One later this year, has been released earlier today.

The series will have eight episodes; from what I can gather the eight episodes will be:
  1. Coasts
  2. Oceans
  3. Freshwater
  4. Forests
  5. Deserts/Grasslands
  6. Extremes
  7. Human Landscapes
  8. Conservation Heroes
The source for this episode list is from an event listed on the University of Cambridge Conservation Research Institute's website - this did come from 2019, so the episodes could be working titles:

I was actually wondering this morning when this would be announced since I figured based on the old release schedule it would be soon. Trailer looks great, can't wait to watch it.

Some information has been released in advance about episode one - Coasts, which will air next week (Sunday 22nd October) on BBC One.

The episode will include (placed within spoilers if anyone wants to keep the surprise):
1. David Attenborough's introduction, on Downe Bank, Kent, UK - this was a location where Charles Darwin ruminated on his theories.
2. Surf opener, on Shipstern Bluff, Tasmania, Australia.
3. Cape fur seals mobbing great white sharks, on Robberg Peninsula, Plettenberg Bay, South Africa - the footage gathered has been passed on to be studied by a local NGO.
4. Sea angels and sea butterflies, in The White Sea, Russia.
5. Lions hunting cormorants on the Skeleton Coast, Namibia.
6. Southern right whales breeding at Peninsula Valdes, Chubut, Argentina.
7. American flamingos at Rio Lagartos, Yucatan, Mexico.
8. Terrestrial garter snakes hunting in the intertidal zone on East Point, Gulf Islands National Park Reserve, British Columbia, Canada - the footage has been passed on to Canadian herpetologist Dr Patrick Gregory for further analysis.
9. Archerfish hunting, apparently filmed entirely in the wild, from Raja Ampat, Indonesia.
10. Green sea turtles coming ashore to nest on Raine Island, Cape York, Queensland, Australia - this will be compared to footage from Attenborough's first visit to the island in 1957 for 'Attenborough and the Paradise Birds'.

Also, as an aside, the proper airing order and titles of the episodes have now been released - it is:
  1. Coasts
  2. Oceans
  3. Deserts and Grasslands
  4. Freshwater
  5. Forests
  6. Extremes
  7. Human
  8. Heroes

I'm watching the 3rd episode, where David Attenborough says that arid lands cover a third of the Earth's surface. As about 70% of the Earth's surface is covered by oceans, his figure must be wrong
