This is a fun little game!

1. Mantled Guereza. They're so visually distinctive that I think they'd be a fun addition, though I do think that their tails might be a bit of a pain to model... I'd be happy with either tbh. I want more primates overall.
2. Snakeneck turtle. I don't spend much time looking at exhibit animals but the long-neck turtles make me giggle.
3. Indian narrow-headed softshell turtles look so goofy that I can't not pick them lol
4. Atlantic puffin 100%. Very classic in my mind when it comes to Arctic birds.
5. Southern Pudu. I say that as a tapir superfan- they're already pretty well-represented in the game and pudu would be a nice small hoofstock addition. Lots of hoofstock require lots of space- I'd love a smaller habitat option.
6. Southern elephant seal. With penguins and puffins I could make a Happy Feet themed section lol. Some interesting options with harems here.
7. Lion-tailed macaque. IMO more visually distinctive than the hanuman langur which look similar enough [to me] to a female white-cheeked gibbon.
8. Spider monkeys feel more "classic" to me and so I'm choosing them over squirrel monkeys. I believe on the whole they're also more at-risk than squirrel monkeys, so from Planet Zoo's conservation-heavy approach, that might be a nice benefit.
9. Turkeys all the way!! Roadrunners are fun but I think that turkeys are so charming. I attend a college campus that has lots of wild turkeys so I'm biased, but turkeys would be so delightful.
10. Chamois. The "itch" that barbary sheep would fill for me is already filled by dall sheep.
11. Pretty neutral on this one. I guess fishing cat. Again, conservation angle.
12. I think red-rumped agoutis are so cute so they get my vote here.
13. I'm gonna go with perentie! I really appreciate the versatility of the habitat reptiles and I think the more of them, the better. They're so nice to have available to tuck in small corners or places that could hold a small habitat on the way to a larger one.
14. The Nile crocodile feels so quintessential that it gets my vote. Some fun Egyptian decor options, maybe...
15. African Civet. Such charming strange-looking creatures.
16. Uuuugh this one is tough. I prefer arboreal hornbills so I'll go with the good ol' marabou stork. If only so I can stop hearing about how badly people want it.
17. Japanese serow. East Asian hoofstock is awesome and while I love tanuki, that itch is kind of already scratched for me by raccoons and red pandas.
18. Visayan warty pigs. I think piggies are cuter than rodents.
19. Canadian Porcupine. I sometimes find myself struggling with North American exhibits/themed areas and I'd love to throw in a porcupine.
20. Pretty neutral here but I'll go with Reeve's for the sake of realism.
21. Radiated tortoises have much more distinct shells than the red footed tortoise so I'm picking them. From a distance I'd like to see that distinct shell- I'd have to zoom in close for the red footed tortoise.

I think that's all of them.... most of my preferences are just "which do I find more visually appealing" and are not very based in actual science or zoology lol.

2. McCord’s snake neck turtle - I love how side-necked turtles hide their head (which I know captive turtles don’t do as much but)
3. Soft shell turtle - such a goofy looking animal
4. King eider - we have no ducks yet (but puffins are more common though)

6. No preference - I don’t think I’ve ever seen either species at a zoo
7. Liontail macaque - as I have South Indian ancestry I would be so very excited to see them (plus they look cool)
8. Squirrel monkey - (really I’d rather see both but)
9. Roadrunner - again I’d really love to see either one
10. Barbary sheep - just a fond childhood memory

13. Bilby - we already have enough monitors

Here are my choices based on the animals that are yet to appear from the Zoo Tycoon Franchise either if this pack isn’t the last pack or the sequel.

Masai Giraffe: I wouldn’t mind if we have a second giraffe species and they’re of conservative importance too as most zoos are breeding this Endangered Species. Most Zoos are focusing on keeping Masai Giraffes over generic Giraffes.

Secretary Bird: It’s the Last Zoo Tycoon 2 Bird and heavily wanted by the fandom if added it would make the first bird of prey in the game. It would share rigs like the Red-crowned Crane.

Honey Badger: Since we got European Badger and Wolverine, this is a well-known mustelid that is fearless, tough, and can be an escape artist and they don’t care or give dang, especially to people who complain about not wanting it in the game.

Gerenuk: A unique African antelope that can stand on its hind legs while browsing on leaves and could make a great comparison to browsing ungulates like the Giraffes and the Dik-Diks.

Olive Baboon: Although we got the Hamadryas Baboon, Olive Baboons are the more classic savannah baboons in Africa.

Blackbuck: We could use an Asian or Indian antelope species especially if they can mix with Water Buffaloes and Indian rhinoceros.

Nile Crocodile: It’s the more classic Crocodile species, the most social, and would be a great African river animal alongside Hippopotamuses, Greater Flamingos, Nile Lechwe, and Nile Monitor.

Onager: An Endangered Conservation Important species and an Asian equine and mix with Bactrian Camel and Przewalski’s Wild Horse.

Bighorn Sheep: A more classic wild sheep to add to the mountain regions other than the Dall’s Sheep.

Gelada: Becoming more common in zoos in Europe, they are a unique primate due to their mountain living and grass diet.

Ethiopian Wolf: Although none in captivity, they would make a unique endangered canid to add.

American Black Bear: It’s the last Bear to add to the game and to complete all the bear species represented in the game.

Mexican Grey Wolf: Although it’s a gray wolf subspecies, they make a great conservation-dependent species and have a conservation story.

Japanese Serow: A Japanese animal to add with a conservation story.

Barbary Macaque: This monkey is the only primate native to Europe as well as North Africa.

Iberian Lynx: Unlike the Eurasian Lynx, it’s an Endangered conservation-dependent species that is making a recovery.

Indian or Indochinese Leopard: I wouldn’t mind adding a Third Leopard subspecies that represents a Tropical Asian species to the game. Although with the addition of the African Leopard as a tropical alternative to the Amur subspecies, the inclusion of a separate subspecies native to Tropical Asia would be remarkably irrelevant.

Javan Rhinoceros: There are none in captivity, they would make a unique endangered species. Although similar to the Indian Rhino already in the game; they are almost identical in appearance. The biggest differences are their size as Javan rhinos are smaller than Indian Rhinos, only male Javan Rhinos have horns, and the lack of horns in female Javan Rhinos.

Crested Gibbon: I wouldn’t mind if we have a third gibbon to add to the game and make it more diverse.

Mountain gorillas: The only few in captivity live in the Senkwekwe Gorilla Orphanage Center - Virunga National Park and the other subspecies Eastern Lowland Gorilla live only in the Antwerp Zoo for inspiration, they would be an endangered dependent species and comparison with the Western Lowland Gorilla.

Sea Otter: They would add more variety in the marine mammals, playful, cute, tool-using, and they’re an endangered species with a conservation story and how they are a keystone species.

Walrus: It’s a highly requested pinniped and would make a great addition to any polar arctic region.

Southern Rockhopper Penguin: A penguin with yellow feathers crests and hopping on rocks would be a great addition.

Emperor Penguin: They are the more famous well-known penguin species and would make the first true only Antarctica native species to the game. They would require an enclosure that is more of an indoor building like in Marine Parks.

Muskoxen: It’s another arctic ungulate requested for the game and known for its shaggy fur.

Northern Elephant Seal: A handful few zoos had kept them especially in the past, Pittsburgh Zoo has them. This big unique Pinniped would be a great addition to a coastal area, they are one of the largest of their family, unique animations like bulls wrestling and deep diving animation, and sexual dimorphism between the males and females.

De Brazza's Monkey: We need more African Monkeys that could mix with the Mandrills and Red River Hogs.

McCord's Snakeneck Turtle: Also called Roti Island Snake-necked Turtle, they are of conservation importance and known for their long-necks.

Painted Terrapin: I prefer this colorful turtle since I saw them at the Los Angeles Zoo where I volunteer.

Atlantic Puffin: They're the more Classic species for the arctic and European Coastal regions.


Southern Pudu: I would say Deer since zoos have them and they're the smallest of the deer family.

Leopard Seal: Known as a Penguin Predator, it's great to add this Antarctica Predator.

Lion-tailed Macaque: I prefer this monkey as they are becoming a phase-out in US Zoos and more simpler to make a model of.

Squirrel Monkey: I would go with the Squirrel Monkey as they would use the rig and model of the Capuchin Monkey.

Greater Roadrunner: They are a fast-running Southwest Bird that is part of the Cuckoo Family known in the Roadrunner Looney Tunes Shorts.

Chamois: I would go with an obscure European Mountain Hoofed Animal like the Chamois.

Fishing Cat: These cats like water and catch fish.

Bush Dog: They're small pack-hunting canids the size of terriers.

Perentie: It's Australia's Largest Land Lizard and would use the models of the Asian water Monitor and Nile Monitor.

Slender-snout Crocodile: A More Critically Endangered Crocodilian for an African Rainforest Region.

Common Genet: A Small Agile Viverrid for European and African Regions.

Southern Ground Hornbill: They are known for their casques and pickaxe beaks to hunt prey like snakes.

Northern Luzon Giant Cloud Rat: We could use a rat species in the Game, especially a Philippine species.

Canadian Porcupine: Also known as the North American Porcupine it can climb up trees and have barbed quills compared to the Crested Porcupine.

Reeve's Muntjac: a Southeast Deer species for any Asian region.

Radiated Tortoise: a Colorful endangered reptile for a Madagascar Region.

Mantled Guereza for a more iconic look and Colobus representation, though a Guenon wouldn't be too bad either.
I like the look of the Snakeneck Turtle, so I'll have to choose that.
Softshell Turtle has a cute look to it. A softshell of any variety would be welcome.
Atlantic Puffin is such an iconic bird, all the way.
This is tough, but I have to go with the Pudu here, I really like the Tapirs we already have.
Southern Elephant Seal, it's just such a cool animal! Though personally if I want any pinniped in Planet Zoo it'd be a Walrus.
Lion-tailed Macaque, you forced me to choose between two great monkeys and I choose the LTM, maybe because of Toronto Zoo bias, maybe not.
Spider Monkey, not much to say there.
I think the Wild Turkeys would be enough to turn people in favour of more domestic-adjacent animals, it's just so flashy in a subtle way.
Chamois is very unique, I'd love to see it.
I don't know much about either animal, but the Fishing Cat is more endangered, and the spots lend it some points.
We could use an Agouti, would be nice.
The Greater Bilby is a more iconic animal in regards to conservation.
Nile Crocodile would, like the African Leopard, complete a group of animals, this being the "Dangerous Seven"
The African Civet would have a little bit more educational value, being hunted and used for human purposes.
Marabou Storks are big, and charismatic, if this is being added to Planet Zoo 1, I'd say the stork. If Planet Zoo 2 has free flight birds? Prioritize the hornbill.
The Japanese Serow is a less iconic species, which is to its benefit. Also being featured in Zoo Tycoon 1 adds a few points.
Visayan warty pig would add a solid critically endangered pig into the game.
I have some bias towards the Canadian Porcupine, if I denied any bias I'd just be lying.
Reeve's Muntjac for a common and unsung zoo animal.
Red-footed Tortoise for some SA representation.

 

[Wildlife Watcher]

Here’s my picks:

1. Mantled Guereza: These guys showed up in Really Wild Animals so I may be slightly biased here.
2. McCord's Snakeneck Turtle: Big-headed turtle is definitely cute but I think having a species of snake neck turtle in the game could be pretty cool.
3. Indian Narrow-headed Softshell Turtle: We already have a terrapin species but no softshell turtles yet.
4. Atlantic Puffin: Puffins are a MUST. Very high on my priority list.
5. Southern Pudu: We already have two species of tapir in the game, so probably Pudu.
6. Southern Elephant Seal: I don’t know if elephant seals are actually kept in captivity but they’re my favorite of the Antarctic seals.
7. Hanuman Langur: We have macaques in the game already but no langurs yet.
8. Squirrel Monkey: I’m done for any New World monkeys but I think squirrel monkeys are the ones I want most.
9. Greater Roadrunner: I’m a big Looney Tunes fan so I’m also biased here. Then again, I’m also a fan of Free Birds so turkeys would definitely be welcome.
10. Chamois: They’re pretty cute, and it would be cool to see more European animals in the game.
11. Fishing Cat: I don’t have a strong preference for this category, so fishing cat it is.
12. Agouti: Canines are much more well-represented than rodents in the game, so I’d go with the Agouti (as long as they pick a single species and not all seven like Zoo Tycoon Xbox did)!
13. Perentie: Bilbies are definitely cute but I want to see more Australian reptiles.
14. Nile Crocodile: Definitely Nile. Far more common and more notorious.
15. Common Genet: I don’t have a strong preference here either, but since genets have a wider range, I think I’ll go with them.
16. Southern Ground Hornbill/Marabou Stork: Oof, this was a tricky one. I say if we get any flying hornbills in the future (like great Indian or rhinoceros) we go with the marabou stork, but if not, we go with the ground hornbill. They’re both really cool birds that I’d love to see in the future.
17. Tanuki: I don’t know too much about either species but I do know that Tanuki are pretty significant to Japanese culture.
18. Northern Luzon Giant Cloud Rat: Not very high on my priority list, but after watching OnionButter’s “Can I Make a Successful Zoo with Only 7 Diseased Rats?” video, the idea of running a zoo with nothing but rats in it sounds pretty dang funny.
19. Canadian Porcupine: I could go either way, but I think Canadian Porcupines would work really well for a taiga theme.
20. Reeve's Muntjac: Another one where I could go either way, but it would probably be better to use the more common species.
21. Radiated Tortoise: Could be cool to see a Malagasy reptile included in the game (still no chameleons unfortunately)

Definitely a lot of great options; overall, I think I’d want to see Nile crocodiles, Atlantic puffins, squirrel monkeys, and elephant seals added the most.

De Brazza Monkey: Truth be told, either choice was fine with me, but I went with this one because they’re less, say, popular.

McCord Snakeneck Turtle: I find it more peculiar looking, though the bigheaded turtle also looks interesting in its own right

Indian Narrow-Headed Softshell Turtle: More appealing and would be the first softshell in the game

Atlantic Puffin: Not gonna say no to this.

Southern Pudu: There are already two species of tapir, one of which is South American, it would be ridiculous to add another South American tapir to the game. Pudu is the better choice, especially since it’s a more unique animal

Leopard Seal: Either choice was fine but I went with this one because leopard seals were much more rare in captivity.

Hanuman Langur: Would be the first langur species in the game.

Spider Monkey: Personally find it as a better choice since I find it more unique.

Greater Roadrunner: Would be a nice addition for a desert themed area.

Chamois: This game needs more European animals

Fishing Cat: Went with this one because I liked it more.

Agouti: Won’t say no to more rodents

Greater Bilby: Not gonna lie, this was kinda tough since perentie is a pretty strong pick, but I went this one since its a more unique animal.

Nile Crocodile: Personally find it more appealing.

Common Genet: Again, this game needs more European fauna.

Southern Ground Hornbill: Would be a better species, and a good to start with if aviaries show up.

Japanese Serow: A unique ungulate, sure the tanuki is iconic, but I find the serow more appealing.

Brazilian porcupine: Either porcupine is fine, but went with this one since I wouldn’t mind a new South American addition.

5) Southern Pudu: Though it would be nice to complete the Tapir species, I would like more small hoofed animals added, was already found of the Kirk's Dik-Dik recently added.
6) Southern Elephant Seal: I personally would prefer the Northern species since they feel more common than the Southern, this pinniped feels more common than Leopard Seals.
7) Hanuman Langur: Don't think we have a Langur species in game plus I find them more iconic.
8) Squirrel Monkey: A favorite of mine in the small monkey species, plus they are pretty common.
9) Greater Roadrunner: An interesting species (and feels more exotic imo) to me and would love to build for.
10) Chamois: Though I feel like I prefer the Barbary more, I think we already have similar species in game. Feel the Chamois would add to the roster as a more exotic goat, plus another smaller hoofstock.

12) Bush Dog: Not sure how common they are at zoos but I recently discovered these canines and fell fascinated by them.
13) Perentie: probably bias because I like seeing them at my home zoo, plus they are a cool species of reptile in general.
14) Nile Crocodile: probably a fan favorite and most iconic in the crocodilian family.
15) Common Genet: Fine with either or but choose because of size and arboreal nature.
16) Marabou Stork: Personal favorite and very iconic and commonly held.
17) Japanese Serow: I seem to be keen of small hoofstock.

*McCord's Snakeneck Turtle- would make a great new addition, id also like to see an update that allowed some exhibit animals that could also be habitat animals and vise versa (IE, terrapin, iguanas, Herman's tortoise, maybe goliath and American bull frogs, and Nile and Asian water monitor, possibly dwarf caiman or Komodo dragon)
Painted Terrapin- I like their colors, also same as the snake necked turtle
Atlantic Puffin- would add an amassing new rig to the game even if they cant fly
Southern Pudu-Be a great representative of the Andes
Southern Elephant Seal- not the biggest fan of either option so I'll choose the bug guys
Lion-tailed Macaque-a lot more interesting and could do some cool mixes
Spider Monkey- Squirrel is to similar to the capuchin and spiders would have some cool new animations
Wild Turkey- be a great ambient animal especially for north American zoos
Barbary Sheep- are in my opinion more popular and another great representative of north Africa
Fishing Cat- much more common in captivity and a better ambassador for small cats
Bush Dog- hard one but i think would be better because it would be able to deep dive
Greater Bilby-one of my favorites, and i think they could of worked in place of the koala or wombat in their own packs
Nile Crocodile- A very divers animal you could have in savanna, desert, jungle or Madagascar areas in your zoo
Common Genet-Because of how wide spread they are and could probably be housed with some other animals
Southern Ground Hornbill-would add a really fun new bird expanding the avian roster
Japanese Serow- could have some very interesting mixed species habitat with crane and macaque
Northern Luzon Giant Cloud Rat-would be very fun to build for in nocturnal houses
Brazilian Porcupine-more arboreal and could be mixed with the capuchin
Reeve's Muntjac-Could do some unique mixes with them and I think are a bit more recognizable

Cotton-top is more favored in the frontier forum probably due to higher conservation value, but I personally prefer Emperor Tamarin due to its cute and unique mustache (this mustache takes hard work and can not be done well by the Modders). What is your preference?
Three-banded Armadillo or Giant Armadillo: both are additional choices of Armadillo, the Three-bandeds are common in real-life facilities, the Giant only held by 2 facilities in native range (based on Zootierlistle) but is surprisingly more in demand in the Frontier forum
Iberian Lynx or Bobcat: both are the second Lynx choices. Iberian Lynx has greater conservatory value, while Bobcat is used for different continental themes than Eurasian Lynx that we already have in the game

The Ghost Bat is held in few real-life facilities, while the Honduran White is completely absent in captivity but can fill in the gap of the New World Bat
Takahe or Kakapo: both are endemic New Zealand flightless birds. The Takahe is kept by real-life facilities (but only in New Zealand). While the Kakapo might be more well-known and has greater conservatory values, and will come up with Parrot model that may be used to create flying Parrots in the future.
Blue Iguana or Marine Iguana： both are habitat Iguana species. Blue Iguana has eye-catching blue colors and is kept in several real-life facilities, while Marine Iguana is one of the world's most unique lizards, but held in only one or two facilities all over the world (but some species in Planet Zoo are also rarely kept in real-life zoos like Asian Water Buffalo and Saiga Antelope).

Here's my picks:

White-tailed Deer: One of the most well known deer species and would make an excellent addition to any North American-themed zoo (especially for any of you Bambi fans out there).
Chital: I definitely see your point about the Nilgai's unique appearance, but personally the chital appeals to me more. As for the blackbuck vs gaur debate, I'd say put both of them in.
Giant Eland: Normally I'd leans towards the common one, but the giant eland would definitely be an impressive addition.
Impala: I feel like the game already has plenty of antelope, but out of these two options I'd prefer the impala.
Ethiopian Wolf: Both good canid options here, but the Ethiopian wolf has greater conservation value, and if what you said about the mod is true, it would appeal more to the larger fanbase as a whole (If it gets added though, it's definitely going to be a reskin of the coyote).
Tufted Deer: No strong preference here so I'll just go with the common one.
Klipspringer: No strong preference here either but it could be fun to see the klipspringer climbing rocks.
White Stork: At first I was going to say Capercaillie, but considering that the white stork is found in both Europe and Africa, that'd give it more versatility.
Emperor Tamarin: Either species would be a fun inclusion, but ultimately my heart goes out to the emperor tamarin. Giving the popularity and conservation importance of tamarin monkeys, I surprised we haven't gotten any yet.
Giant Armadillo: Kinda the same logic I used for the giant eland, I just think this one would stand out more from the nine-banded armadillo already in the game.
Bobcat: Like you mentioned, we already have a lynx species to represent Europe, plus I think bobcats would make a great addition for Southwest-themed zoos.
Black-footed Ferret: Good representative of successful conservation efforts that would also give us another iconic prairie species.
Red-legged Seriema: Though we could definitely use more waterfowl in the game, the seriema sounds like the cooler option.
Agouti (any species): I still think it's kind of weird that Zoo Tycoon Xbox felt the need to include every species of agouti in their already contrived roster, so if it ever gets added to Planet Zoo I'd just say stick with Azara's.
Kagu: Honestly I don't know anything about either of these birds and I'd be surprised if Frontier adds them anytime soon.
Lowland Anoa: Already voted for the chital earlier so this time I'll go with the bovid.
Giant Hermit Crab (exhibit): Oh man, it would be so cool to have crustaceans added to the game, especially hermit crabs. Either species would be good with me.
Ocellated Lizard: Either option would be good for boosting the Old World's selection of exhibit animals, but I think the Ocellated lizard is much more visually striking.
Ghost Bat: One of my favorite bat species, but if they're ever added to the game, I'd also like them to add the common vampire bat as well, so we could get both Halloween-inspired bats.
Kakapo: I'm totally down for bringing one of New Zealand's parrots into the game, especially if it leads to us getting macaws in the future.
Blue Iguana or Marine Iguana (tie): My brain says blue iguana but my heart says marine iguana. Ultimately though, I think I'd be happy with either option getting included in the game.

White-tailed Deer: be more diverse for different areas
Chital: as much as i love Nilgia I think Axis Deer would work better for mixed species habitat
Common Eland much more common in captivity and also have a much larger range so could be used with many other African hoof stock
Impala like the eland more common and wound fit in better with other species
Black-backed Jackal make more since because of actual captive represented
Tufted Deer I would say they are more recognizable and would also work better in a mixed species exhibit
Duiker (specifically Yellow Backed) I think they would work much better as a filler animal or be mixed with bongo or okapi like they commonly are in real zoos
White Stork would work well in mixed species habitats and could be in either Eurasian or African areas or as "wild" animals you could have in ponds in your zoos like the mute swan
Cotton-top Tamarin I personally think that cotton tops are cuter (although I'm biased after seeing babies at Disney's Animal Kingdom)
Three-banded Armadillo I think they are cutter and their little chunky butts and also more likely to be able to be housed with other animals
Bobcat neither would be my choice for a secondary lynx species I think the bobcat would work better as they are very common in smaller facilities in the USA and Canada
Javan Lutung I personally think that these ones are a lot more stunning because of their bring colors of the orange color variants
Black-footed Ferret: I think they would be cool to have in a great plains area in a zoo and could have some optical illusion with bison and pronghorn above them
Southern Screamer I think would be a good representee of the pantal and another unique bird choice
Agouti (red rumped): these little guys would work really well mixed with monkeys or other small Amazonian residents
Maleo: I think they would work better being outside but the Kagu would work better in an aviary setting
Lowland Anoa: would be a great addition for a SE Asia roster, and I was kinda disappointed when they weren't added with SE Asia
Indonesian Hermit Crab because I think the terrestrial one would just work better with the game
European Glass Lizard my friend used to have one named Lizzy, and if exhibits get a major overhaul It would be nice to see some more mixed exhibits, I know Buffalo Zoo has them with Herman's Tortoise witch were added with Eurasia
Ghost Bat I Think they are cuter and because there are some in captivity it would make more scene
Kakapo I personally think that they would fit in better with the kiwi and both are also nocturnal so you could make a small new Zeeland nocturnal house
Blue Iguana I'm really just choosing these guys because I think they're prettier

I initially did think about a either/or choice btw Seba Short-tailed Bat and Vampire Bat, as they are both New World bats that we don't have any in the game yet, Seba is much more common in real-life captivity especially in Europe since only one EAZA facility holds Vampire Bat. It is frugivore like the two Bats available in the game, so it has no problem being set as walkthrough exhibit species. While the Vampire Bat is much more well-known (definitively the best-known New World Bat), but looks weird being set as walkthrough species b/c many people may think whether they will bite visitors (but I hear there is real-life example of walkthrough Vampire Bat exhibit, I just forget which zoo has it)

We start with a VERY tough choice, as both African monkeys are very good candidates. But in the end I went with the De Brazza's Monkey, as I felt that, though cool in its own right, the guereza's colour scheme and niche is very similar to the black-and-white ruffed lemur, while the De Brazza's monkey is more unique.
Though both turtles would be valuable in adding exhibit species to the much-neglected Southeast Asian roster, I'll choose the McCord's Snakeneck Turtle due to its more common husbandry and distinct appearance.
Though the painted terrapin is a classic roommate of the gharial, I cannot resist choosing the Indian Narrow-headed Softshell Turtle (though I'd choose the painted terrapin if we had a more common softshell species)
As majestic as the king eider is, it doesn't hold a candle to the Atlantic Puffin in terms of being the most iconic Arctic seabird.
The Brazilian tapir overlaps too much with the Baird's. The Southern Pudu on the other hand is the only diminutive deer species, so I'd go with that one.
It's an extremely tough choice, as both these seals have been in zoos in the past, but ultimately I think the Southern Elephant Seal is aesthetically more spectacular, and offers a bigger contrast to the grey seal, plus it may not be as reliant on the cold.
As much as I love the Hanuman langur, I'll go with the Lion-tailed Macaque, as it's a great contrast with the Japanese species.
Any species of Spider Monkey would be my pick for the next South American monkey, as they have a somewhat larger presence. Squirrel monkeys aren't bad, but they're already smaller than the ones we currently have, which are quite tiny.
The Greater Roadrunner would be my choice of North American ground bird, as it would add some variety (though you could argue the turkey would be a great addition to your chicken pen)
The chamois might be more unique, but the Barbary Sheep would give us the excellent option of a hot-weather caprine; most of the ones we currently have can't stand the heat.
The Fishing Cat is my clear choice here, as the golden cat is extremely rare in captivity.
Seeing how the bush dog was recently added, I'd say an Agouti (any species) would be a neat addition.
The Greater Bilby would be a remarkable marsupial to add, despite its rarity in captivity.
The Slender-snout Crocodile is my go-to croc to add, as I feel that the Nile may be a bit too similar to the saltie, while the slender-snout is a good middle-ground between them and the Indian gharial.
Due to its more widespread distribution, I'll choose the Common Genet as the next civet.
The choice here is extremely difficult, but I will say the Marabou Stork due to its larger size, it being more common in open-topped exhibits, and the fact I'd prioritize an Asian hornbill species.
Both Japanese options are good, but I'll ultimately choose the Tanuki; along with the red fox, it can make for an excellent Yokai-themed zone.
While the niche for the Visayan warty pig is somewhat taken by the babirusa, I'll go with the more unique Northern Luzon Giant Cloud Rat
As much as I love the Brazilian porcupine, I think the Canadian Porcupine is the overall better choice here.
Reeve's Muntjac is my preferred choice, as it's more commonly kept.
Both tortoises are good, but I choose the Radiated Tortoise as it can help flesh out the Madagascar roster.

Bush Dog or Agouti (any species): both are South American small ground mammals

Oof this one is a tough one. I like both species. But due to people complaining about new canines, I guess agouti is a better choice.

Greater Bilby or Perentie: both are additions for Australian desert theme

Hmmm. I guess bilby would be the better choice since people might complain about a new monitor.

Nile Crocodile or Slender-snout Crocodile: both are African Crocodilians

Nile crocodile. It would be madness to not add the animal that most people grew up with in zt2.

African Civet or Common Genet: both are African Viverrids (while Common Genets also occur in Southern Europe and Middle East)

African civet. Both are fine species but I think the civet might be easier to implement to the game than the genet.

Southern Ground Hornbill or Marabou Stork: both are additional African ground birds

Southern ground hornbill. It’s easier to accept seeing this bird be grounded than the marabou.

Tanuki or Japanese Serow: both are additions of Japanese theme

Another tough one. Both species represent an over-represented group of animals. While we have a ton of ungulates already, I will never say no to a new caprid.

Northern Luzon Giant Cloud Rat or Visayan Warty Pig: both are endemic Philippine species to represent the Philippine fauna

Warty pig. While a small rodent is possible, as can be seen by the prairie dog, I don’t know how a small climbing rodent would work with objects clipping in mind. So I will choose the piggy.

Canadian Porcupine or Brazilian Porcupine: both are typical New-World Porcupines

Both are fine but South America still needs more species so I will go with the Brazilian porcupine.

Reeve's Muntjac or Southern Red Muntjac: both are Muntjac species that can be found in captivity. Reeve's Muntjac is more common in real-life zoos, while Southern Red Muntjac can fit to more themes since they occur not only China but also South and Southeast Asia.

Reeve’s. I don’t even think most people can distinguish both species from each other so it’s doesn’t matter if Reeves get used for SEA themed enclosures. That and I personally like Reeve’s muntjac.

Red-footed Tortoise or Radiated Tortoise: both are medium-sized Tortoises with colorful shells.

Another tough one since both their regions could use more unique species. But I will go with Madagascar which only has four lemurs and a fossa. Surely it could make use of a tortoise.
