Planet Zoo Planet Zoo!

So then Capybara and LHSI are coming? Also about the grouping even in a tropical pack the LHSI live on mountain rainforest, while the capybara’s live in tropical rainforest more so mangrove forest.

Sun bear were seen in the files of planet zoo in a video that revealed some of the aquatic dlc animals which the dlc hadn’t been announced yet so maybe this is the case like that were we get a leaked photo but one animal is coming in a later pack. Remember despite this google sheet having all the legit animals in the game in its list this still is a sheet. Here is the link. I noticed the two animals after when the Black and white ruffed lemur was added which is included in the sheet. Planet Zoo animal roster

Do they necessarily have to be in the same pack? I seem to remember that the grey seal, king penguin and sun bear were all leaked simultaneously and quite a few people over on the official forums thought they were all coming in a single pack.

They were indeed, and it may well turn out that way again. Either way it's a nice duo of species to be getting.

Which makes me genuinely curious as to how Capybara and the LHSI work in the same pack, for how Frontier has been doing them.
The only similarity I can think between the 2 species (other than they are both animals of course;)) is that they both live in forests (although capybaras live in dense forests and Lord Howe Island stick insect lives in subtropical forests, but if Planet Zoo has to be so specific it becomes very very difficult to put together a good pack).

Huh? This list for the PZ animals has Capybara and Lord howe stick-insect at the bottom. Black and white ruffed lemur has been added. But looking at when the two unconfirmed animals were added in it just says “KCONTENT”. Huh?
I'm not familiar with the Google Doc that you are using, but I know information about the situation in general. Within the files, there are references for Capybara and LHISI Animal Signs, with the Capybara sign sharing a prefix with the already existing Aquatic Pack props, and the LHISI sharing with the AUS Pack. Because of them being linked to already existing packs, and because there are other instances of similar files (code relating to an Emperor Penguin Animal Sign has been in the game since Beta), there isn't a high chance that the signs truly mean anything. If I had to guess, the 'K' in 'KCONTENT9K' means 'cut', because that is the most likely scenario for them. The 'CONTENT9' part would mean that the creator of the list thinks it likely that (if not cut) the animals will be added in the DLC after next. The Capybara and LHISI signs weren't the only things found, however. There was also code relating to a 'Porcupine' animal folder (though that's also likely cut content from the Africa Pack), as well as a whole load of props/scenery items. Some of the props had a prefix called 'DLC8', and seeing as the last pack was DLC7, these files are more than likely not to be cut content. If you want, I could post the list of all 'DLC8' items, but the main gist is that they have a generic urban theme. I don't remember which prop specifically had it, but there was also a prop that had an as-of-yet unused 'EU' prefix, which makes the prevailing theory for the next DLC a Europe-based one.

Google sheets that I found, I hope they come in a future dlc. I have a feeling your that guy called “Lost bits” who covers unused stuff. I’m pretty sure most of the PZ community knows that they are mentioned in the files (the 2 animals) but they don’t know that they are cut. The community would be devastated to learn capybaras possibly could have been cut.

I hope someone whenever there is a planet zoo ask questions stream or something someone asks and we get an answer at least if they are cut or not. The real tragedy is that porcupines and the cutest invert in the world didn’t get added.

@Tricoart The full name was KCONTENT9K meaning that it could be in a 9th pack. Like many others said how will a invertebrate on mountain forests be in a pack with a mammal in mangrove rainforests. Maybe they are really cut from the game.

Ok, I can explain. If you look at the bottom specially “Added in” LHSB and Capybara’s “added in date” have been changed from KCONTENT9K to LCONTENT9L. Tricolor said that KCONTENT9K could have meant cut content but it has been changed to L instead of a K so this theory might have fallen. Secondly a nameless infoless animal with the only info is that it was apparently added in the “European animal pack” shown in the image. I have no idea what this is. Europe may be the next dlc. There is no animal name on the european animal so we do not know what it is. Remember this google sheets was made by a unknown person, someone from germany.

I'm not surprised to see a European pack presumably in the works, it's the last main continent we don't have a DLC for. It will be interesting to see if it is indeed coming and what the species choices are. Ibex and European Badger mayhaps? Personally I really hope they don't give us a 3rd brown bear subspecies, there's too many holes in the roster yet to have 3 brown bears.

(Sidenote, I recognize the name Tricoart as a reputable modder, so I expect they know what they're talking about.)

An Ibex would make sense - it's one of the few European animals to be frequently included in zoo simulation games (such as the first two Zoo Tycoons and the original Wildlife Park).

I'm guessing we'll get a badger or a wolverine. Neither of those animals were included in the NA pack, which makes me think that they wanted to save one for Europe. Ibex seems likely. I would also bet on the Eurasian lynx, the game doesn't have a lot of small cats in general so it would stand out. Personally I'm hoping for a fire salamander and some kind of deer. I won't be surprised if it's an animals only pack, so we could get more than five animals.

These make sense indeed. I would find it nice if they made it an animal only pack, as you said, once we have already got tons of european themed props that come in the base game classic theme, as well as the ones in the arctic pack. I would love to see red deer, red fox and squirrels, but I doubt the last one would come.

Wasn't there talk of some medieval Europe scenery items or tags in the game files? I wouldn't be surprised it we got 5 + medieval scenery.
Wasn't aware of this... Although I don't think this would be great. I would preffer more animals than a bunch of medieval stuff, as this kind of theming is practically unexisting in zoos worldwide.

There was talk of a unused “EU” prefix. Highly likely with the lack of European animals in game and the game files that we are getting a European pack.

I do think there are many options for theming outside of medieval style.
You also have Roman, Greek, German and Old Dutch architectural styles, among others.
But yes, extra animals would not be out of place and are probably better than these architectural styles.

Wasn't there some mention of Planet Coaster files being left in PZ? Maybe the Medieval stuff is just that. A Medieval theme would be a really weird addition to the game.

There's been something of the sort, yes. I've heard there's a fair deal of overlap with PZ and PC files. Apparently JWE isn't too far off either, as we're currently getting inundated with dinosaur mods. (Personally I question whether this is a smart move, as Frontier has just released JWE2 and now PZ is getting flooded with dinosaur mods. Feels like something that might cause Frontier to try and crack down on things.)
