Planet Zoo Planet Zoo!

This game needs more monkeys. Baboons, guenons, colobus monkeys, leaf monkeys, crested macaques, spider monkeys, howlers, squirrel monkeys. Tamarins and marmosets perhaps for the WE.

They've never done a Taxonomy-based pack before, but a monkey pack would no doubt be a huge money maker for them.
I've honestly always been against taxonomic packs simply because it can oversaturate or give "unjust" variety to a taxonomic category whilst others get ignored; it would however be best to highlight subsequently in different packs a taxonomic group which generally lacks in the game eg. Geladas in a highland pack, tamarins in a, I don't know, small animals pack? And baboons in another pack.

This I feel is the best way of representing taxa and, if PZ would change their number format, it would probably be more profitable.

A monkey pack wouldn't be unjust. It would be justice.
There are 13 antilopes in PZ. 7 bears. 9 canids. But only 4 monkeys.
See what I said in the reply #2316, Primates require a lot of work in making models due to their complex movements like climbing and swinging, the Frontier rather clones Bovidaes to save time and effort.

I have a wishlist of animals from the original Zoo Tycoon and Zoo Tycoon 2 games, which future packs would be suitable for them?

Masai Giraffe, Secretary Bird, Honey Badger, Gerenuk, Olive Baboon, Blackbuck, African Spurred Tortoise, Nile Crocodile, African Leopard, Markhor, Bighorn Sheep, Spectacled Bear, Gelada, Ethiopian Wolf, American Black Bear, Mexican Grey Wolf, Japanese Serow, Barbary Macaque, Iberian Lynx, Indian or Indochinese Leopard, Javan Rhinoceros, Crested Gibbon, Mountain Gorilla, Sea Otter, Walrus, Northern Elephant Seal, Southern Rockhopper Penguin, Emperor Penguin, Muskoxen, and Onager.

I didn't say unjust as a whole, I said it'd bring unjust variety to a certain taxon group within a small time frame (though I did not explicitly said the last part).

So do the animals that have appeared get removed from the META-Wishlist?

Yes. If you scroll down to the second post in the thread that was linked, you will see a spoiler titled "Animals added in DLCs" that shows animals that were on the list, but have since been removed because they were added to the game.

don't know if it's been mentioned, but there's a lot of mods that add in almost any monkey or ape that you could want, along with improving the appearance of chimpanzees.

Even if we don't get a proper bird pack, there are still many birds the game could add like Ibis, Cranes, Storks, Pelicans, Spoonbills, Curassows, Rhea, Pheasants etc.

I hope this isn't coming to the end for Planet Zoo DLCs (not just yet). There are still so many mammals I would like to have.

So what are your hopes and animals to be added for next year in 2024?!
When we look at the DLCs that have been released since these 2 years, all of them offer several high-demanded species from the META wishlist, for example, the Wolverine (rank #2), Takin (rank #9) and Saiga (rank #17) in the Eurasia pack, the Tasmanian Devil and Kiwi in Oceania pack, the Capybara and Platypus in Wetland pack, Maned Wolf, Emu, Bennett Wallaby and Caracal in Grassland pack, African Crested Porcupine and Dromedary in Arid pack, Lar Gibbon, Fossa and Red River Hog in Tropical pack. That means the Frontier staff do go through the META wishlist and satisfy those top-demanded species, so we probably can predict the possible themes and rosters of future DLCs based upon the META wishlist.
1. Now the #1 demanded species is Secretary Bird, since we already have the Grassland pack, the potential pack in the future that contains Secretary Bird might be the Safari pack, the Hamadryas Baboon (rank #8), Shoebill (rank #12), Grey Crowned Crane (rank #13), Serval (rank #18), Honey Badger (rank #19) and Blackbuck (rank #21) also fit with this theme. But I highly doubt whether the Frontier will offer so many high-demanded species in one pack since we look back at the recent-released packs, for the Oceania pack, the Goodfellow's Tree Kangaroo and Short-beaked Echidna have more votes than Little Blue Penguin and Quokka, but the latter two are offered. For the Eurasia pack, Wisent (rank #75) is offered rather than many higher-ranked Eurasian species such as Hamadrays Baboon, Markhor (rank #15), Pallas Cat (rank #28), Golden Snub-nosed Monkey (rank #48), Chinese Giant Salamander (rank #66) etc. So the Frontier prefers one or two clone species like Nile Crocodile or African Leopard.
2. The South American species in the game are definitively insufficient, on the top10 of META wishlist we have South American Coati (rank #3), Black Howler (rank #6) and Golden Lion Tamarin (rank#10), they might be offered by a Latin America pack, other potential species may include Ocelot (rank #14), Spectacled Bear (rank #16), Patagonian Mara (rank #27), Greater Rhea (rank #30) and Bush Dog (rank #38).
3. for scenery pack, there might be a North American native theme pack. On the top 10 of META wishlist we have Walrus (rank #4) and Musk Ox (rank #7), which could come up with a Tundra pack, as Tundra can refer to Arctic tundra and Alpine tundra, another species may include American Black Bear, Elk, or some Asian Alpine species like Markhor or Pallas Cat.
4. Now we still have Goodfellow Tree Kangaroo in current top 10 doesn't have related DLC, so there might be an Island pack that provides some aquarium component, the exhibit species would be the West Indian Manatee, other species may include Goofellow Tree Kangaroo, Short-beaked Echidna, Sea Otter and Pelican. I don't know whether the Frontier will continue releasing DLCs in 2025 b/c there is humor saying that Planet Zoo II will come up in that year, with better mechanisms that allow flying birds and aquarium, but who knows.

Why aren’t there many DLCs left for planet zoo? Sorry, I’m still pretty new and am learning a lot!
There is rumor saying that the Planet Zoo II will come up in 2025, with better mechanism that allows the flying birds and aquarium species, we don't have any big change in this game after the Twilight pack probably due to the limit of current mechanism. Nevertheless, that is just a rumor.

I personally also like to see Ground Hornbill, Kakapo and Takahe in the game, but they are very unlikely to be offered. :( Even Shoebill, one of my favorite birds, can't be guaranteed in the future packs
