Planet Zoo Planet Zoo!

There is rumor saying that the Planet Zoo II will come up in 2025, with better mechanism that allows the flying birds and aquarium species, we don't have any big change in this game after the Twilight pack probably due to the limit of current mechanism. Nevertheless, that is just a rumor.

I personally also like to see Ground Hornbill, Kakapo and Takahe in the game, but they are very unlikely to be offered. :( Even Shoebill, one of my favorite birds, can't be guaranteed in the future packs
Thank you for the additional info, appreciate it!

Yes I was also thinking of a Ground Hornbill, even Secretary Bird, Seriema, Herons and Caribbean Flamingo too. These as well as the others I listed are easy birds for the game.

I'm rather surprised Frontier hasn't added another flamingo species since they'd be an easy clone and it's a well-known group. Either Caribbean or Chilean would be a nice addition for the Americas. Ground Hornbill and Secretarybird would be great, another large pheasant species, stork, or crane would be too.

If do add another Flamingo species they should add a new mechanism of color variation in terms of diet with the Flamingos case which they stated is yet to be added.

I would say yes to Secretarybird because it's the last and only bird left from the Original Zoo Tycoon 2 Video Game that is yet to be added unless you count the rockhopper penguin.

The META wishlist in the Frontier official forum is updated, the 7 habitat species offered by the Eurasia pack are moved to the Animals added to the DLCs list. Now the top 10 demanded species are Secretary Bird, South American Coati, Walrus, Goodfellow's Tree Kangaroo, Black Howler, Musk Ox, Hamadryas Baboon, Golden Lion Tamarin, West Indian Manatee and Shoebill. Surprisingly the Golden Snub-nosed Monkey rises from #48 to #39.

The realist want hamadryas because they have a greater presence in zoos around the world while geladas are borderline locked to Europe.
In the USA, North America. Only Bronx Zoo and San Diego zoo keep Geladas (Which I saw!).

What about the Olive Baboons they’re a classic Zoo Tycoon Species same with Geladas in Zoo Tycoon 2 and they’re the most popular and familiar of the Baboons?

Chances for these species mostly high since they’re highly voted and requested.

Only three institutions in North America hold Geladas, the two you have visited are the only two holders in US, and St. Felicien is the only holder in Canada.

Looking at the top 10 species in current META wishlist, I suddenly think that we may get a Tundra pack in the future? A Siberian-themed scenery pack with 4+1 species, probably include Walrus, Musk Ox, Sea Otter, what else? Elk? But I feel that Elk is more likely to come up with North American native themed pack.

Very familiar from pretty much any African wildlife documentary, yet largely absent from the larger/more reputable zoos in both NA and Europe. The Hamadryas has somehow become the staple zoo baboon with over 100 zoos holding them in Europe, quite a few in NA, as well as zoos in Asia and Oceania, adding the Hamadryas would make the most sense to me.

In Europe there are only 22 institutions hold Olive Baboons, but 118 institutions hold Hamadryas Baboons. Obviously Europeans are more familiar with Hamadryas than Olive, the Planet Zoo is a made-in-Europe game. In North America, Olives have 1 more holders (20 vs 19) than Hamadryas, but all the holders of Olives in US are less-reputable institutions, by contrast Hamadryas are held by some well-known zoos like San Diego and Tampa. Interestingly in Canada there are 5 Olive holders but no one holds Hamadryas

At this point, it is pretty clear that Frontier does not consult Zootierlist (or similar) to pick their species. Saiga, Baird's Tapir, Proboscis Monkey, Grey Seal, 3-toed-Sloth, etc are very uncommonly kept in zoos (or not at all) and we still have them. And I do not think most of the players (<90%) really care if the species is kept in zoos or not. They just want cool animals. It has been clear that Frontier is not strict about that for quite a while.
