Planet Zoo 2 Roster Vote

Ok so, I made a form about what Planet Zoo animals everyone would like to see coming in the sequel.

The Jurassic World Evolution offers 37 species through the base game, and the number of species increases to 68 after all updates. By comparison, the second generation offers 75 species in the base game, which is more than the final total of the first generation after all updates, many DLC species in 1 gen species are offered in 2 gen's base game since it is non-sense that letting players to pay money again for the same animals. So, I think if there is a PZ 2, the number of species offered in the base game will be much greater than that of PZ 1's base game, and it even likely that the PZ 2 will provide most available species of PZ 1 through base game. The PZ1's base game provides 72 species at the beginning, how many species of PZ2's base game do you guys think might be offered?

On my console version of Planet Zoo, it doesn't give me an onscreen message to say any vet or mechanic research has been complete when I play in career or sandbox mode. I have to go into the main pages on research.

Does anyone know if there is a setting where I can turn that on?

Planet Zoo has done a huge step forward quality wise comparing with Zoo Tycoon 2. The only complains I have in this matter are the humans/visitors, that are realy simple created. But then, who cares when animals are more important here...

17 species of Primates: 7 Monkeys: 2 New World Monkeys: Colombian White-faced Capuchin Monkey and White-faced Saki, and 5 Old World Monkeys: 2 Macaques: Japanese Macaque and Lion-tailed Macaque, Mandrill, Proboscis Monkey, and Hamadryas Baboon.

Very interesting to analyze this particular list. Aside from marmosets or tamarins (probably a size limitation?) is one thing, the biggest surprise on the New World list is no spider monkey of any kind. I think they'd need at least one. A howler would be another good addition for a larger NW monkey.

For the Old World monkeys, they seem like they could use a langur (Francois, Javan, Hanuman, I'd say Douc but one that can be kept in captivity would be a better start) a mangabey (Red-crowned, Black crested, White-naped, Golden-bellied) a colobine (Angolan, Eastern) and a guenon (Red-Tailed, Spot-Nosed, do Debrazza count?) to have roughly one from each of the major families. An aye-aye would be a worthy addition for the lemur family. That would bring us to 24 primates!

Would also be nice to have a squirrel monkey species or howler monkey. As for the Old World I'd say Sulawesi black macaque and gelada baboons. You could probably also put marmosets and tamarins in one of the walkthrough exhibits like the sloths and bats.

I'm impressed at just how many species the game now has, it's incredible. There's only a few extra ones I wish it still had like the primates I mentioned as well as mongooses, secretary bird, kudu, aardwolf, hyrax, Nile crocodile, American black bear, alligator snapping turtle, manatee, echidna and tamandua. Those would all be welcome additions in my opinion.

I find it hard to pin the lack of tamarins/marmosets to size, given we do have Meerkat and Prairie Dog, and the baby chickens are tiny!

Same here, in fact, some of them I want to see, like the secretarybird, Nile Crocodile, and American Black Bear, are from the original Zoo Tycoon games.

I completely overlooked squirrel monkey; somehow I thought they were already in the game but realizing I think that was a mod a friend was showing me. That would be my first choice for a New World monkey addition.

I'd like to see Sulawesi macaque or Gelada, but I was trying to prioritize groups that aren't represented and since there are already two macaques I didn't think as strongly on the Sulawesi. Gelada are a similar niche to baboon but very visually stunning and fill off a ZT2 list species.

That's a good point. I defaulted to that reason because during my Jurassic World Evolution days, a lot of people often excluded small species due to size, even after smaller species started being implemented.

In that case, there's several viable tamarin species, with Cotton Top and Golden Lion Tamarin by far the easiest contenders. Not sure which marmoset would be best.

Personally I'd go Golden Lion Tamarin and leave it there - it's bright and therefore easier to see and find, strong conservation message, and widespread in zoos. It would be nice to have another, but I suspect it would be setting the bar a tad too high.

I forgot to add the Grey Crowned Crane as that is high on my list, also maybe a couple of Pheasant species and other Ibis.

I personally think they should save most of these for planet zoo 2, but the ones that are more just copy and pasted animals already in the game they could easily implement like the Rothschild giraffe and Asiatic lion should be added

What do you think about mods/modding Planet Zoo? Have you used mods and if yes, which mods do you prefer?

I have commissioned many of the extinct animal mod and - as my username shows, but also because for Planet Zoo, mammals and mammal-like species are somewhat easier to make than archosaurs - have focused on Cenozoic extinct species in this endeavour.

Any News Lately?

Not that I've heard - probably still a bit early to hear anything about the next DLC, assuming there's still more in the pipeline.

What do you think about mods/modding Planet Zoo? Have you used mods and if yes, which mods do you prefer?

I currently use a lot of mods, mostly new species ones. Nice to be able to fill in the gaps and some additional variety. I only use extant species though, never felt like adding any extinct ones.
