Bristol Blue Reef Aquarium Plans for Blue Reef Aquarium in Bristol

I hear Bristol is going to be gaining an aquarium in the old "Wildwalk" part of @Bristol. Does anyone know any further details?

Wildwalk was closed a couple of years ago/last year due to it not being financially viable. All animals were diseminated and it was uncertain to its future, until a press release early this year that said Blue Reef were taking over. I haven't seen any recent plans or discussion on their plans, but I would hazard a guess that Blue Reef designs their aquariums on a similar theme.

Strangely enough I've just arranged to meet a friend who I haven't seen for years. She has just told me she's in Bristol, working on the new aquarium. Hopefully I will know more tomorrow. How strange...

I was told that it was closing because the company no longer felt it fitted in with their "interactive" enviroment, the company also owns the planetarium and hands on science centre over the road.

The aquarium sounds good news, is there any idea of how big it will be?

I was impressed with Wildwalk on my only visit , a sort of cross between a Natural History Museum , Botanical collection and zoo , though no large species were exhibited .
