1 Garnett's Greater Galago/Bushbaby (Otolemur garnettii) born on 3 February.
 
Does anyone know if the lights in the nocturnal sections will still be switched on immediately after the zoo opens?

The answer is yes. At least on my visit last week. The lights were on until about 8.20

In other news, 2 new species since this month are European golden-plover (1.1) & Collared pratincole (10!). Both are kept inside the Pygmy Hippo House.

Also interesting to know might be that there's still three striped possums present behind the scenes
 
Forgot to mention that the zoo no longer keeps Saharan striped weasel. The last male died this year.
 
Indian Rhino, Manjula is confirmed pregnant for the second time. Calf expected in February or March 2017. Her previous calf was shipped to Touroparc, France recently
 
A new bird species at Plzen: Red-throated Bee-eaters (Merops bulocki) have arrived from a private breeder.
 
The detached Aqua-Tera station in town center had succeeded to hatch another Caiman Lizard.
 
Indian Rhino, Manjula gave birth to a calf in the past few hours (her second)
 
A few days ago, the zoo received a Palawan Binturong from Parken Zoo (Sweden).
 
The zoo announced it has broken its all-time attendace record (460.000).

A new exhibition is open - it´s called Filipíny (and is located where komodo dragon and asian turtles enclosures used to be few years ago). Species on show are - Philliphine crocodiles, mangrove snake, yellow-headed water monitor (Varanus cumingi), turtles, mudskippers, 20 species of butterflies, some smaller reptiles.
