Port Lympne Wild Animal Park Port Lympne 2017

Visited today, the path from the bottom of the open air Gorilla enclosures along past the round Gorilla house and then up past the Clouded Leopard is the only reopened path.Warty Pig in a paddock on the corner below the Clouded Leopard.

The old barbary lion enclosure next to the Amur Tigers at the top of the zoo has been combined with the tiger enclosure incorporating the path between the two.

There is now a ridiculously large Scottish Wildcat open air enclosure opposite the Pallas's cats( larger than plenty of tiger enclosures!).

There are 2 Brazilian Tapir on the truck ride before the Andean bear /coati enclosure and the capuchins have been moved to a cage just after that, I really wish the Bears were accessible on foot!

It was confirmed a female Cheetah will be sharing a paddock with a rhino near start of truck ride. The fence looks more or less finished.

I was surprised that there are now at least 27 Eland there,I can't remember seeing more than 5-10 in the past
 
Sad to hear, he was the second oldest black rhino bull in Europe...

So Port Lympne now has 12 rhino, three males and nine females.
 
My list is 11 Black rhino at PL since death of Kingo although I may have missed . It`s just Nyasa`s parents that I can`t seem to find, please feel free to add if anyone has this info

You forgot Zambezi II who was transferred there from Howletts in October last year.
Nyasa was born to Jos x Arusha
 
Yeah so Port Lympne have 12 (Sammy Zambezi Zuri, Arusha Rosie Vuyu Ruaha Solio Nyasa Nyota Kissima Rukuru) and Howletts have 4 (Kasungu, Salome Damara Mizi)

Strange isn't it. As if because it didn't happen at Port Lympne its not worth mentioning, despite being a successful breeding loan.

No chance he can go back there to repeat that success now...:(
 
Four of Kivu the gorilla's sons are to be sent to the Congo from Port Lympne next month . They are Kangu ( born 1999 , mother Sangha ) , Kebu ( born 2000 , mother Tebe ) , Kouyou ( born 2002 , mother Sounda ) and Fubu ( born 2002 , mother Bamilla ) .
