Port Lympne Wild Animal Park Port Lympne black rhino

There is a little more hope for breeding in the UK with the new rhino bulls at Port Lympne. Going to check out stuff this pre-summer again.

The decision to send the individuals on transfer either to Folly Farm (as previously planned) or Flamingoland depends on several matters, one of those is exhibit finalized and ready to accommodate safely and securely both for animals and staff members rhinos at either facility. It could still go either way! However, ultimately the studbook keeper in cooperation with both facilities will undoubtedly decide what is best from the animal management perspective.

We should be happy that two more institutions within the UK are entering the EEP for black rhinos. There is a real need for new holders within the region with plenty of young animals on offer now and in the intermediate future.

Does anyone know what Nyassa's parentage is ? She's the only PL rhino I can't seem to locate her history, I'd be grateful for any information.

Also am I right in thinking the deceased individuals Kingo and Nakuru were both offspring of wild caught Rukwa ?

Curiosity is getting the better of me

Nyasa was born to Jos X Arusha

Kingo and Nakuru are both the offspring of Rukwa but both have different sires, so are not full siblings.
