I seem to remember that when she arrived though they said she was 'Barbary' and a suitable partner for the male...I think they have perhaps finally given up with pushing that now though- just 'Lions' now?.
 
Zambezi, the male rhino being transported from Kent to Tanzania for reintroduction, has died en route according to brief statement on their FB page.
 
Kasangu (born Howletts 2015? To Damara?) Has been introduced to Rukuru (born PL 2016 Solio I think).

I was hoping Rukuru wouldn't move to Africa as her bloodline from her mother's side(if im correct) descends from Africa so genetically could be important. Anyhow good news and hopefully will have the right outcome.

I guess these are Black rhino, but it is good conduct to always list the species you are talking about.
 
A teaser on FB shows a large but low crate being lifted off a wagon. New male Black rhino perhaps?
 
Hopefully they can use the empty crate and transport to move the young male to Twycross whilst it’s on site finally
 
Any idea where this new rhino has arrived from? Britain or abroad?

They all ready have a crate for the young male rhino and are trying to crate train him. From speaking to staff he is being quite difficult!

Speaking to the twycross staff they are having difficulty training as they have had a couple of failed attempts to move him in the summer but think he is now inproving and could possibly be moved in the next few weeks if not are confident it will happen before Christmas

No sorry can’t remember his name but he is young at the start of the year when I first found out he was three years old but he might be four by now if that helps
 
Sounds like it will be Zuri born PL 2016(Sammy x Ruaha) only other one would be Kasangu born Howletts 2015(Zambezi x Damara)
 
Where are the lion cubs and are they visible without the wire fencing at all?
I've only been here once, five years ago and only remember a single lion enclosure, but looking through the thread suggests there are two now? The map shows something called Lion Lodge, but I don't actually see an exhibit as such.

There are indeed two - the one by Lion Lodge has the cubs. There is also a pair of females in an enclosure by some of the wildcats and the safari truck pickup stop at the entrance (Basecamp).

The cubs are has you come out the entrance to the back of the shop there used to be wolves n painted dogs where they are ... the other lion is pretty much of show she’s the mother of the Male in lion lodge enclosure and in her twenties and she was with her long term mate suliman who passed away earlier this year
 
Young Male White Rhino has arrived from Dublin Zoo last week. Named Zuko. Living in the old Asian Elephant cow house. A second Male White Rhino from Colchester will be joining him early in the new year.
