Via Aquarium Possible Aquarium for Albany ny

With 25,000 square feet and only 37 tanks it seems that this upcoming facility will be a 45-minute visit for many individuals. I see that the projected annual visitor count is 200,000 and that seems right for such a small aquarium. I love to see new aquariums open in the USA (over 65 since 1990) but it is a pity that this one will not be very large.
The aquarium will open on November 12. Photos in the article.

I have been once about a month after it opened, It was decent for its size and location however it was a bit overpriced at almost $20 for adults on the weekend. The Aquarium had several large nice exhibits but most of the fish are still small and their numbers are not great yet. There are some nice interactive exhibits as well as a nice touch pool and Stingray Touch tank, they also have a unique Koi touch tank. The highlights are the two tunnels that have some sharks and coral reef fish, however in my opinion they were not done as well as some others that have similar exhibits. The walls are very high which made it hard for children to see. Overall there are quite a few exhibits, nothing that really stands out but well done for the size and location, the one thing they could really use is a large Reef exhibit, say in between the 75-100K gallon.
