Posting AI generated content on ZooChat

Just a general note to all members explaining my position on posting AI generated content on ZooChat.

AI systems can be used in many ways - from generating content to rewriting content you provide.

AI content generation systems are known for generating technically incorrect information with complete confidence - which makes them misleading and extremely problematic - effectively junk content. It can make it very difficult for less well informed readers to judge the accuracy because it is generally written in a more professional manner than typical forum posts, leading to assumptions that the information is correct or more accurate than other information - which is not necessarily the case.

The posting of AI generated content is not permitted on ZooChat and anyone found to be doing so will be banned, especially if the content is giving incorrect information.

ZooChat's success is based on meaningful contribution from our members - real people - not generic content generated by an AI system.

In theory I don't have an issue with someone using AI to help them re-write content they've already written - to improve the grammar and sentence construction and such. However, you do need to consider the consequence of doing so - it will most likely make your writing look like it came from an AI and not from you, and that can make it seem less trustworthy as a result.

My advice is to avoid using AI to rewrite your content - this is not a professional journal where we demand high quality writing, nor do we expect "formal" writing - it's a discussion forum*. If someone is posting content that smells like it was AI generated - regardless of the source of that content - then we are likely to remove it.

The value in this site is in the personal experiences and opinions of our members - not in what some AI system thinks we want to read. It doesn't matter how good or bad your writing ability is!

{* - side note: "text" speak (4u, b4, gr8, etc) is not acceptable either - please at least try to write in plain English, even if your spelling and grammar isn't the best}

I had an idea.
I understand not everyone is very capable of detecting AI created content [though many of us are].
So my thought was to have a sort of megathread of animal-related websites that seem to have been using AI content either in pictures or text - so that anyone unsure could have their suspicions confirmed - and people knew what websites to avoid.
Would this be fine?

Am I correct in assuming that AI-generated content in a post is fine, if it is made clear that particular content was AI-generated?

No.

As I already said - the value of the community is in our own experiences and perspectives - not in what some AI system thinks we want to read.

What about use of AI-generated content for the explicit discussion of AI-generated content? In some ways, rather bizarrely, looking at the type of content an AI like ChatGPT generates on a certain subject can tell you a lot about what the average person (or at least the average internet user) thinks about that topic?

Discussion or critique would be fine - but that's not really the point I'm trying to make.

Posting content generated (or heavily modified) by an AI system as if it were your own, is not permitted.

I've been noticing a concerning increase in AI generated animal images in headlines and would like to discuss a few things about it - is that considered acceptable AI discussion?
Would including a couple of screenshots of these headlines I've seen go by be okay or is that not within the acceptable lines?

To be clear, I'm not promoting use of these images or AI, I'm looking to discuss issues and concerns with them. It seems to becoming a relevant discussion point, unfortunately.

Hi I was wondering if I could use Ai to give me Ideas of what to reply with:)
If you don't have an idea what to reply with why would you think you have to reply? You obviously don't have any original thoughts on the matter. Best leave it alone and reply to something you do have an opinion or information on.

Ok thanks I just wanted to know since I am about to be banned for ai content. And I love ZooChat it is now part of my everyday life:)
