The potter park zoo is currently working on introducing their to black rhinos dopssee(f) and Jello(M) to help with breeding purposes later in life. It is a big hope of there's to breed these two because Jello is the last of his bloodline.

How old are both now?

Dopssee is turning 5 this summer and Jello is 7 or 8.

Then truly they are in the best of age ranges to breed successfully (a male should be ideally a few years older than the female and females become sexually mature at 3-4 years of age). Fingers crossed that they hit it off soon! :)

There has never been a single photo from this zoo on this website until today, and for those that are interested I uploaded 52 photos that were taken on my recent 50 day, 50 zoo/aquarium summer road trip.

The zoo has three North American river otter pups. One was born at the zoo, and the other to came from the Alexandria Zoo in Louisiana. The three of them are all being hand raised together.

Due to extreme weather tomorrow (Most of Michigan is reportedly suppose to be around -25 degrees farrenheit) the Potter Park Zoo will be closed. Even though, I highly doubted most zoochatters were planning on going to Potter Park tomorrow.

The zoo's female Binturong, Mya, is now in the former Red Panda exhibit as the zoo creates a new panda habitat.
