Poznan Zoo (New) Poznan New zoo news

The zoo took in an exhausted bearded vulture "Rei del Cause". A young bird that was released in France 2 years ago. He was found exhausted in the city due to longterm bad weather with rain that prevented it to fly and search for food.

The bird got vet assistance and is kept in isolation at the zoo and waits for decision of the EEP coordinator.

The zoo has a new appointed director. Piotr Przyłucki

He seems to have vet university degree and has worked in zoos before. But the article mentions his doctorate´s thema is - why dolphins are not suitable for captivity. He seems to be militant opponent of delphinaria.

Hello,
I am planning a trip to Poznan new zoo in July 2025 and finding it difficult to assess the public transport situation, getting to/from the zoo from the main station in Poznan.

Is there regular transport (e.g bus 184, or other), and do these run every day including Saturday and Sunday?
Are there taxis nearby/is Uber a thing?

I've googled extensively and really finding it hard to know for sure. I don't want to be stuck there on a weekend!

Thanks for any info

I recommend you to download an app called Jakdojade. I understand why you ask if transport runs on weekends since Google suggest that it does not, however, Jakdojade suggests that it does run.
I found it quite easy to get to the new zoo using the trams, but I assume there will be taxis as an alternative.

I visited the zoo by public transportation from Wroclaw a few years ago.
I do not remember the details, but it's defenitely possible.

I took an Uber from the centre of Poznan to the zoo and used it to get back when I visited back in 2019, didn't have any issues and it was far easier than using buses on a tight schedule.
