After ten years Prague has capybaras. They arrived from Copenhagen. Acording to zootierliste they imported one male which im not sure about that but they will be housed in the anteater exhibit in the lower part of the zoo.

According to Zootierliste Zoo Prague has imported 5.5 Brazilian merganser from Zoopark de Itaiba in Brazil and are currently behind the scenes. This would be the first time this critically endangered species is kept in a European zoo according to ZTL.

Zoo Prague already supported Itaiba, which kept 40 of these mergansers in 2021 and was successful in breeding them.

Wow, now that is very big news, if accurate. No mentions on the Zoo's social media yet.

There are mentioned also some other plans - old polar bear exhibit (when bears will be gone) should be reconstructed for orangutans. It will be connected by tunnel or bridge with their current paddock (so no pandas or sloth bears, which were also planned there)
And again, old pachyderm house mentioned - in the future it should be changed to South American exhibit (not sure how big update of ambitious Amazonia, planned there some ten years ago, article I found mentioned Orinoco as possibility)

Think the plans for Pandas were shelved a while ago due to political disagreements with the City of Prague and China. Shame about no Sloth Bears, though. Do the orangs need more space? If so, that's good news they're getting it.

Almost no chance of Orinoco but would be nice if it did happen. Manatees would be a nice addition, though that is pure speculation on my part!

How large is the polar bear enclosure? Would it be large enough for the orangutans if it got converted and attached to the current orang outdoor enclosure?

I didn't find the size of the polar bear enclosure and the new standard for the sizes of the orangutan's enclosures but the outside enclosure for the orangs measures 350 square meters.

I think it is good news! The current orang-outan aviary is too small and adding a second outdoor enclosure will offer a lot of diversity and fusion/fission possibilities.
The polar bear enclosure would have been a rather small new enclosure for sloth bears. Not shockingly small, but already on the samll side from the beginning.
For the apes, height and volume matters more than square meters and with the elevation, you could imagine viewpoints at several heights for the visitors.

I think, that in case of another bear species, old paddocks would be probably somehow enlarged?
About manatees, I am a bit sceptical (also, is there space and money for that?), though it would be really cool

Prague zoo received 5,5 Brazilian mergansers from Zoopark Itatiba.

You are about two weeks too late :D

List of October arrivals on zoos website is out.

Arrival of 10 Brazilian mergansers from Itatiba is confirmed. (probably still kept backstage now)
The female capybara came from German Tierpark Limbach-Oberfrohna.
A group of 1.4 Angolan guerezas came from zoo Pilsen and will stay backstage till Pilsen builds a new house for them (circa 1 year?).
Pilsen sent also a pair of emperor geese, pair of Salvadori's pheasants, male black-breasted thrush and female African brush-tailed porcupine.
Male D'Albertis' python arrived from private sphere. (This species is kept longterm in former elephant house.)
Jihlava sent 0,1 West African tree hyrax. Thus Prague now has a pair in their old gorilla house.

Among births are listed:

2 Dalmatian pelicans (reared by parents in colony near Secuan pavilion)
10 bisons, 12 squirrel monkeys, 0.1 Elds (thamin) deer
5 common vipers, 1 quince monitor, 16 Common chuckwallas
1 Red-billed curassow, Brandt's voles, 1 scaly-naped pigeon
2 Helmethead geckos, 1 spiny hill turtle, 5 eastern garden lizards
and first 2 Humbolds penguin chicks of this breeding season.

Any information whether all five pairs will stay at Prague?

It is likely that the zoo will hold onto the species until they have bred and therefore the offspring can be distributed to other collections. I can't see this being long until other zoos may receive them due to clutch sizes being between three and six in the species. This is of course only speculation.
