Pregnant Elephants 2014

African elephant, Litsemba at Reid Park is pregnant and if I remember right due in the summer.

Asian elephant, Maharani currently at Calgary but soon moving to the National Zoo might be pregnant anywhere from a couple of months to a little over a year along. There is no confirmation just rumor.

Thats all I know.
 
Asha, a female elephant at the Oklahoma City Zoo is pregnant with her second calf. This calf was sired by the zoos fairly new bull Rex who came from Canada.
 
Rex came from African Lion Safari where he sired 5 calves (4 survivors).

And if we are keeping track of the sire as well...

Maharani's calf's father will be Spike who now resides at Busch Gardens, Tampa.

Litsemba's calf was sired by Mabhulane.
 
Might not be 2014 any more but there were 3 pregnant Asian elephants at African Lion Safari. All have since given birth to healthy females.

Lilly gave birth to Hannah October 19, 2014.

First time mom Emily had Gigi February 24, 2015.

And most recently first time mom Opal gave birth to the youngest in the herd Anna May May 4, 2015.

The three calves mark African Lion Safari's 15th, 16th and 17th births.
