I got this book for Christmas, and the plates are what make it very impressive. It's a very different book to 'Carnivores of the World'. The illlustrations are of a very high quality, and most of the book is devoted to plates with small distribution maps and species names next to them. Not all species are covered - there are some large gaps. There is also minimal specific information available; each genus gets its own introductory paragraph but that's about it.
