Leopard and Goat Farm Private Collection in Cornwall

I've just seen on their Instagram that Leopard & Goat farm have Sunda Marbled Cats! One of only a handful to keep Marbled Cats in the entire world I believe?

I heard someone say here a while ago he was hoping to obtain marbled cats and even bay cats, which are unheard of in captivity!
It's such an impressive collection, I'm dying to have a look!
Meanwhile in less dramatic news looking at their Insta it seems he's added a couple of maned wolves to the collection too!

Well, I hope that a) open days do start up eventually and b) I can work out some way to get there by public transport if they do :p

Good luck Dave, it's in the middle of nowhere even by Cornish standards, you'll need a taxi most likely! Nearest bus stop is 2 miles away!

It honestly is unbelievable, I find myself checking their website and Insta at least once a week just to see what will turn up next. I wasn't even aware of the RSCC until after it had already closed down, so the day I see that LGF open days are up and running, I will be making the long trip down to Cornwall!

Well, 2 miles is nothing ;) given I have often walked 4 miles from a bus stop to reach Hamerton - the key issue is how safely this can be done, and how easy it is to reach the bus stop in the first place!

Not holding my breath all that much, sadly :p given how tricky it is for me to merely reach Cornwall to begin with.

Yeah I also check their Insta regularly because it's just surreal what they have there!

Always happy to help with transport - if I'm back home :)

If you're offering rides dude I'd like to call shotgun asap! I live locally but I don't have transport! Just to warn you I've passed by there trying to get a sneaky peak and it involves an unpaved access lane that barely meets the definition of "road"! If you're local I'm sure you know the type ;)

I also used to walk much longer distances, but sadly disability makes that an impossibility for me :( Just to warn you these are narrow lanes with no such thing as pavements. I'd get a cab or a ride from a friend if I were you mate! Of course all this is assuming they ever actually do an open day!

This is UNBELIEVABLE news. I can't believe it. Marbled cats are a dream for me. Several years ago when Todd had RSCC he gave me a private tour and let me walk around and photograph before they opened for the season. I already have plane tickets for Europe in September, assuming travel is opened up by then (which is now less certain than I thought it would be when I bought them last October). I did not plan on spending time in UK other than a hotel at Heathrow between my return flights. This news may make me alter my plans. THANK YOU so much for posting this!

I don't have Instagram but may need to sign up just for their news. I checked their Facebook page just now (the only social media I use) and they do not update it sadly. (Their last post is from April 2020 asking for donations).

Please don't take this the wrong way - but I'm only comfortable traveling with people that I'm friends with :)

Idk if it is jealousy but I just feel like something is fishy about the feral wild animal project. Like getting the trust of the Malagasy and Chinese government to get rare animals at a considerably young age.

Yeah, I guess I am just jealous.

So to sum it up :
- Marbled cats
- Brown hyenas
- Grandidier's vontsiras
- Red-and-white giant flying squirrel
- Yellow-throated martens (what subspecies?)
- Javan ferret badgers
- Sun bears
- Clouded leopards
- White-striped dorcopsis
- Dusky pademelon
- Ring-tailed vontsira
- White-tailed antsangy
- Lowland streaker tenrec ?

And probably other species, the collection is incredible.

I think there are also;

Spotted Hyenas
Cheetahs (don't know subspecies but I've seen photos)
Honey Badgers
Fossas
Binturongs
Maned Wolves

Not to mention Cassowaries and assorted Birds of Paradise

It's epic!

He flexed bush dogs, ratel, and Madagascan flying fox. He mentioned that he also has highland streaked tenrecs.

I think you might be slightly underestimating how old Dalton is :p he's not old by any means, but I wouldn't exactly call him "considerably young" either!

So I think you are indeed a bit envious :p

I have a feeling some of the above-mentioned species are no longer at the collection - and I'm pretty certain the tenrecs and antsangy are gone now.
