San Diego Zoo Probably an odd question about San Diego Zoo & their grizzlies, but...

This question is aimed mainly at frequent visitors to the SD Zoo and to anyone who might know typical grizzly behavior, especially in a zoological setting.

I know Scout and Montana rotate with the black bear at the SD Zoo so this question is based on them being in the yard during a visit... is there any particularly good time to see them? Meaning morning, lunchtime, afternoon. If you visit the SDZ on a regular basis, when is the best time to actually see them?

I told you it was an odd question. hahahaha. In all my trips there, I've seen them...ONCE. And I was doing a BTS tour and a bus was rumbling up behind our little golf cart so there wasn't much time to see them.

Thanks. :D

I think its a weird day schedule, meaning when they rotate, they are out for a day, but I think the grizzlies are out more than the black bear. The black bear is very old and isnt active so I think they have him/her spend more time inside.

Just to clarify, the grizzlies rotate with "Blackey", a Manchurian brown bear (a rather dark one), rather than a black bear as suggested.

This is why we do not post when we are in a conversation with five other people. Yes its Manchurian brown bear.
