Could be misremembering but weren't Tasmanian emu much smaller than on the mainland? Wonder if that would have a major effect on how differently they would effect the ecosystem if reintroduced.

Need to read the article. Tassie emus weren't much smaller than mainland ones. No reason why the project wouldn't work.
