On March 6th, the zoo announced that they acquired a (0.0.1) Pallas cat named Taiichi which is now on exhibit.

On March 24th, the zoo announced that they acquired a (1.0) African wild dog named Rassmussen from the Sedgwick County Zoo in Kansas which is now on exhibit.

On May 5th, the zoo announced that their (0.1) American elk named Natasha passed away at ~20 years old, and a (0.1) African penguin named Piglet passed away at age 26.

Also on May 5th, the zoo announced that a (0.0.1) cotton-top tamarin was born on April 30th.

On June 9th, the zoo announced that they acquired (1.1) sunbitterns named Twig and Sprig which are now on exhibit in the Rainforest building.

On June 15th, the zoo announced that they transferred a (1.0) red panda named Mogwai to the Buffalo Zoo in New York.

On September 15th, the zoo announced they will acquire a (1.0) red panda named Scout from the Buffalo Zoo in New York in the near future.

The Toledo Zoo's Denny is now at the Pueblo Zoo. I think ostrich chicks are really cute, so I'm very sad to have missed him in Toledo.
 
On January 29th, 2024, the zoo announced they moved their (1.0) Bactrian camel named Presley is back on exhibit after spending months in recovery.

On January 30th, 2024, the zoo announced that their (1.0) African lion named Taz Jahari passed away at age 21.

On February 11th, the zoo announced that a (1.0) North American porcupine named Toby passed away on February 9th at age 14 due to bladder disease.
