Good eve,
Oddly enough, I found these forums completely by accident, while I was searching for information on the young kid who got scratched up by a Harris hawk at the zoo in Aldergrove, BC (yes, I found the story, no links needed, thanks).
However, it looks interesting enough, but there's lots more about me than will fit in my profile.
Let's see... Associate member, AZA, AAZK, and IMATA (the latter the longest -- 24 years with them); I've been fortunate enough to have visited most of the major zoos and oceanariums in the US, several in Canada, and two in Mexico; I've also had the privilege of working directly with dolphins and sea lions during a volunteer stint with Oklahoma City Zoo and Magic Mountain (though the latter hasn't had a dolphin show in years).
I consider myself a pretty decent shutterbug, but I'm between cameras at the moment (just now starting to make the transition from film to digital). I'm going to get myself a Canon 'prosumer' outfit for Christmas, though (EOS 50D, plus lenses), so you may see some of my work here in times to come.
If anyone else on the board is into amateur (ham) radio, you'll have no trouble decoding the subject line of this post. For others, suffice to say that KC7GR is my callsign, which is how I'm identified when on the air.
Not much else... Former small-plane pilot, fashion consultant to displaced spirits everywhere, aficionado (and occasional perpetrator) of pranks involving those tiny little rubber spheres known as superballs. Oh, and don't ever put me and one of those programmable highway message signs in close proximity unless you don't care what the sign ends up displaying.
I'll be around. Happy travels.
