I hope to be visiting here on Thursday 23rd February and was wondering if anyone has visited lately and what they thought of the collection and what species I should be looking out for.

Will be arriving via public transport and hope to arrive around 10.50am what are the wild areas like for bird watching and are the hides any good for sighting the birds from.

I will post a review of my visit when I return it will probably be here from Saturday evening as I will update my blog first and upload photographs to my flickr page as I have been requested to by contacts on my flickr account.

Do people feel that the admission cost of £7.50 is worth it and what about the facilities are they up to standard any help would be gratefully received?

Only thing I suggest you look out for (I have no idea if they are on show yet) is the new pair of Double Wattled Cassowary who arrived from Frankfurt (female) and Avifauna (male) on the 8th Feb...

Many thanks for the info Nisha I have had to change the date of my visit to next Wednesday 29th due to hospital run but will still update and put on a review

The new Cassowary are still off show at present, the male is very young.

The Kings are starting to display, always worth watching

If you're into your wild birds keep an eye out for Willow Tit, Brambling and Hawfinch in the Nature Area

really, people would actually complain about £7.50 as an admission fee to somewhere like Birdland?! Isn't that less than a movie ticket? Honestly, you guys over there don't know how lucky you are. (Not aimed at anyone on here in particular, just any general visitor who thought that was wasted money).
