Questions about Berlin's Zoological institutions

Agree on this, have been to Berlin Zoo three times, seen kiwi and tuatara everytime. I would say you would have to be unlucky not to see one. Also agreed on skipping the extension area if pushed for time.

The Bird House is incredible, and the Antelope House is perhaps the most beautiful zoo building of all time (added plus of resident gerenuk). I also loved the new rhino house on my most recent visit. You couldn't fail to have a good time.

A slight understatement for the James’, which now cannot be found anywhere in Europe except Zoo Berlin!

And are there some other gems (not necessarily mammals), who one shouldn´t miss?
Not only species but also exhibits (those historical building - stables, Antilopenhaus etc. in central part are must for me already)?

What do you mean by 'my time will be limited'?

Is this like: my time in Berlin will be limited and I can only visit 1 zoo?
Or, your zoo visit time will be limited: half a day, couple of hours?

An extended visit to the aquarium reptile house can take 2-3 hours.

My highlights are: Aquarium+reptile house, Empire of the cats, Creatures of the night, Antelope house, Eagle canyon, Hippo bay, World of Birds and the Pheasantry. But that could easily become a full day if you want to see every species. Luckily for you, these are all more or less in a straight line :-). And while you do that, you'll pass also the Panda Garden and the new Rhino Pagode.

Unfortunately some species you prefer are not found on this line. Condors can be found beyond the penguins and the gaurs are between the latter and the Eagle canyon, and red duiker are near the main restaurant.

I think that's the third upper floor, mainly insects and amphibians.
But in your case, with such limited time and given your interests, my advice would be: skipp that building. There is no point in racing through this in half an hour.

Concentrate on the straight line between Empire of the Cats and the Pheasandry. If time remains you can do an extra tour okapi-red duiker > penguin pool - Andean condor aviary > Cattle section with gaur > back to and through the Primate House - bonobo
