I need some help with a few questions about various collections...

1. Where did colchesters sand cats get moved to?
2. Does anyone know what happened to cooper the cheetah at banham?
3. Can anyone scan a copy of an old colchester zoo map?
4. Where did colchesters maned wolves go to?
5. How many UK zoos hold spotted hyena
6. Do any uk zoos hold masai giraffes?

I can't help you with one to four but according to ISIS only Colchester currently house Spotted Hyena at present. There are no Masai Giraffe in the UK. The last one died at Paignton around 10 years ago. Europe's only Masai Giraffe are 0:4 at Basel Zoo in Switzeland and 1:0 at Hai Park Kiriat Motzkin in Israel.

I don't know of an UK collections which have spotted hyenas but I would love to see some here!

Mbembe is very old and i would say he probably wont be replaced when he passes on as colchester want to focus on breeding their two striped hyenas. Are there any plans to bring spotted hyenas back to UK?

One of the members here mentioned that one UK collection are looking into obtaining Spotted Hyenas. Not sure what the chances are at the moment.

Knowsley Safari Park were looking at getting them but its gone all quiet on that front.
