This zoo is tiny, and 99% of what I know about is from a trip to it from a few years ago. As you said, they don't have a website, aren't on any kind of social media, and the only news about what is happening at the zoo that I have ever come across is this, and when the zoo opens for the season every year.

Updates from my visit yesterday:

  • The Domestic rabbit exhibit is gone.
  • You can no longer walk-through the African Spurred Tortoise exhibit. There is constuction going on inside.
  • Five Black Swan cygnets have hatched.
  • The Llama has been moved from the outdoor domestics yard to the duck pond.
  • The exhibit formerly housing a Fennec Fox now exhibits and African Crested Porcupine.
  • The exhibit formerly housing Black-Tailed Prairie Dogs now exhibits two species of Amazona parrots.

Highlights from the article:

  • The zoo received a $300,000 donation.
  • The mayor decided to put out a survey to see what the people who live in WR want to see done with the zoo.
  • Three common responses were that zoo needs better enclosures, that the zoo currently seems run down, and that there isn't much variety (all of which is true IMO).
  • As for new animals, 50% of people who responded want River Otters. Bears, Red Pandas, wolves, and Koi were also popular requests.
  • A $2.5 Million master plan was created based on the people's request to be completed over the next 10 years.
  • Plans include an aviary and a new, larger petting zoo.
  • Also, it says the zoo opened in 1951. This is the first history we've ever learned about the zoo!

What bear enclosure?
 
With the "What Animals Would You Like To See?" thing with the photos, I'd like to see the "Ant Eater" come to the zoo, the Red Pandas would also be interested. They have a leopard gecko labeled as a salamander, how interesting :p
 
Lol. How insulting to the gecko. One would think if you were lucky enough to have a leopard gecko, you'd know it wasn't a corn snake. Or would be much more eager to change the name on an old exhibit if that's the problem. Feel back for the gecko.
 
Updates from today:

-I saw the kangaroo exhibit (containing Red Kangaroos). It's tiny and entirely sand. Terrible exhibit.
-The previously terrible Striped Skunk exhibit now contains a Red Fox and has been more than tripled in size, now with outdoor access. It's really just okay now, though.
-3 Common Quail have been added to the parrot enclosure. I've honestly never seen this species before.
-2 Domestic Goats and an Indian Peafowl were born.
-The rheas have been replaced by a Dromedary.
-The zoo appears to be down to one Black Swan.
