Black Caiman. Here's a species clearly over looked, neglected, and deemed not a valuable species for captivity to the so-called experts!
Late reply but this is mostly an import issue. Black caiman are very tough to get out of South America and a majority of the ones in the US are considered too old to breed. The Phoenix Herpetological Sanctuary got a few juveniles from Denmark about 10 years ago and I'm pretty sure that was the first time the US has had legally imported black caiman in 30+ years. Would love to see more Latin American governments play ball with American zoos in that regard.

I found a post by @jayjds2 from back in 2017 saying that:

Apologies for the late reply here - that statement was accurate when I made it but not long after, STL did go out of tuatara. They were down to one individual and sent it to either Toledo or Dallas.
