Rarely seen events

A pregnant megamouth washed up on shore in the Philippines with 6 near-term embryos (these were all inside her!). This is the first time a pregnant megamouth has been found, alive or dead. A shame they didn't live but hopefully they will provide a lot of valuable research material to help the species.

15th March Wild Earth Sunrise Safari

Tracker Cedric had been following male leopard 'Tortoise Pan', but events took an unexpected turn - Tortoise Pan caught a Warthog, which was immediately stolen by another, more dominant male leopard 'Molwati', who proceeded to finish the kill, right in front of Tortoise Pan. The two leopards then had their own confrontation.

Tortoise Pan is 7 years old, Molwati is 10 years old.

The sighting starts at the 1 hour 49 minute mark

Just to finish things off, at the very end of the drive, Tracker Chad found some wild dogs

One of the Africam webcams, at Ol Donyo in Kenya, filmed a bull elephant in musth goring a bull giraffe. This was discussed a few days later on WildEarth's Live at the Waterhole, where it was confirmed that the giraffe later sadly died from it's injuries.

A pair of red-tailed coral snakes, Micrurus mipartitus, have been observed and filmed fighting over a caecilian in Colombia. It is the first-ever documented case of attempted kleptoparasitism in a wild elapid snake.

A video of the fight can be seen here:

An article about this event, with a link to the full scientific paper about the sighting, is included here:
Two coral snakes recorded battling for prey in a scientific first

A young bearded vulture (captive bred and released in France - Grands Causses) is currently touring Poland.

The man (living in Poznan) in video says - You won´t believe what sits on our window. In my kitchen.

BTW This bird has GPS sender and is being closely observed by ornitologists.

Let's not forget that documentaries from PBS Nature and Netflix have managed to film newly seen behaviors or first-time footage caught on tape.

Example: If you have not seen Netflix’s Living with Leopards here are some examples.
-a Leopard being chased off from a kill by Cheetahs
-Two Male Leopards fighting
-a Father Leopard allowing his yearling son to feed on his kill with him
-African Leopard hunting Olive Baboons
-African Leopard surrounded by a mob of Olive Baboons and chased away.
-Leopard Courtship
-Leopard mother showing her cubs to hunt
-Leopard digging out a Warthog piglet
-Leopard confronting an adult mother warthog in the burrow who fights with its tusks and throws dirt at them
-a young Leopard driven out by its mother when it grows up
-an African leopard hunting and bringing down an adult male warthog.

A rather unusual event has been filmed - a critically endangered flapper skate attacked an inflatable boat off the coast of Shetland, puncturing it in several places and leaving some teeth behind in the material. Conservationists studying the species have recorded them coming to the surface to forage, but have never recorded one attacking a boat before.

Watch the moment a skate attacks a fisherman's boat off Shetland
